Making money online is a dream that not many can make a reality but that doesn’t mean you can’t be apart of that 1%.
Being in the industry for 3 years now, I have seen way too many people quit right before they were about to have their breakthrough and it’s actually really, really sad.
The one thing that I do know is the fact that ANYONE can do it even if you think you can’t, so please pay attention to this post, especially if you have been trying to make money online for less than a year’s time.
If you’ve created your own website but have yet to turn a profit, here are some reasons why your website is most likely not making any money.
Most you may already know and others will have you changing your blogging schedule almost immediately.
For what it’s worth, here are some of the biggest reasons why your website isn’t making any money.
1.) You Just Started
There are just way too many of you out there that come into the online world of blogging and making money online, expecting to make money within your first few weeks.
If you are doing affiliate marketing and your main marketing strategy is through some fresh content, I can almost guarantee you that you will not make any money within your first month.
For those of you who have about 10 posts on your website, you might want to hold off on checking those affiliate stats.
What you do need to understand is the fact that every other successful website started somewhere and every single one of them started with a single blog post.
For those of you with a domain that is not even a 6 months old, forget about the money, at least for right now.
2.) You’re Still a Skeptic
If you’re one of those that think you can’t make any money online, you might as well stop now.
You might not have the effort to get you to getting traffic, but a lot of it might have to deal with the fact that you are probably still skeptical about this whole online thing.
The one thing that separated me from everyone else was the fact that I believed in everything I was doing.
I believed that money can be made online.
I believed that I had what it takes to make it.
And I believed in the program I was using.
Everything you do in life starts with you, so you need to know that money is being made online by affiliate marketers all over the world, every second, of every single day.
Get that part out of the way, and put in the work that is needed to make you that first $1.
3.) No Patience
I can’t even count how many times people have asked me how long it takes to make money online.
Of course our main goal is to make that money, but that also goes hand in hand with #2 and something you need to fix immediately.
There is no magic number on when you should start making money with your website as there are many variables that come into play as far as when you should start seeing dollar signs.
From your niche all the way down to your work ethic, there are many things in between that will determine when you make that first $1.
I do know that if you have some patience and you remain positive, you will definitely make money a lot faster than someone who does the complete opposite.
Patience is a virtue and that my friend also applies in the online world.
4.) You’re Not Consistent Enough
Most people fail to understand what being consistent really means, at least when it comes to the world of making money online.
“John, I blogged so much but why ain’t I making any money yet?”.
They blog so much, but have no clue as to what consistent means.
Doing a post 5 days straight and stopping for a week before you publish another blog post is not consistent.
Publishing today, skipping 5 days, and blogging 10 days after that is also not consistent.
Blogging 3x a week is consistent.
Blogging every other day is consistent.
Develop some type of pattern and schedule and stick to it.
Just don’t go over a week without blogging and you should be good to go.
5.) Support is Nonexistent
From your friends and family that most likely think everything online is a scam, to the help that is needed to keep you on track, support is a huge factor.
I’m not saying you need to convince your other half that what you are doing is legit because that shouldn’t matter to you, but get the help you need to make it happen.
Join the right community, interact with like minded individuals, and get the help and support from others in the business or you won’t get very far.
Going at this alone is a great way to get confused and you might just be another one of those throwing in the towel.
6.) You’re Not Narrow Enough
As a blogger your niche is going to be your bread and butter.
Forget about what you heard is profitable or what is the hottest niche on the market, you need to stick with what you are truly passionate about or you’ll find yourself jumping from one thing to the next.
Create your site around something that interests YOU and try to break it down to a very specific crowd or things will overwhelm you faster than you know it.
In the beginning we all think we can handle 3 sites at once as well as choose something as broad as parenting, just to find out that we can’t do it all.
This is one of the few (if not the only) things that you don’t want to be the jack of all trades in, so don’t try to become the next parents.com or you’ll pay for it later.
7.) You Don’t Know What You’re Doing
A lot of you might think you have the best training in front of you when you probably don’t.
Most programs out there are designed for you to promote them, so make sure you are with a solid training center, that has a strong focus on its members.
Almost every program that I’ve tried out there is either a scam or some incomplete training that is designed for the owner to make money, not its members.
Thank God for showing me the Wealthy Affiliate, which is by far the best program on the net today.
From the easy to follow training to the help and support, all the way to a huge community of online entrepreneurs, I can assure you that you will find everything you need on there to make money online.
If you are skeptical about your current program, now might be a great time to create a free starter account with WA, so you can get bumped back on the right track.
Conclusion
Your website and the domain you chose for that site are some of the stuff that you obviously need.
Follow these little tips and I’m 100% sure that you can and will make the income you’ve been trying to create all this time.
Forget about what anyone tells you about what you’re doing and forget about thinking that you can’t do it.
I was told many times in my career that I will never make money online and that did nothing but push me harder to prove them wrong.
Sure they may have pissed me off and made me work my behind off, but I really only did it for me and my family.
Trust me, I am not the best writer and I never knew how to write, but the drive and passion to make money online was greater than my fear to fail.
Use that same mentality along with these tips and you will see that first $1 sooner than you think.
