In the beginning, being active on your blog is fairly easy, especially if that’s all you do. Once you get then hang of things and you start making money, complacency kicks in and it can ruin your whole business without you knowing.
I am a full-time online businessman, as well as a father of 3 amazing boys. I have several websites that I run and keeping up with them is not the easiest thing. Things are always up and down, which gets me to forgetting that I have an online business to run.
Although I work from home, it’s like I have less time to do anything else. In the end, there is no excuse as to why your website isn’t making money. Here are some things that I do to keep creating content regularly.
I Hired a Writer!
I’m definitely not telling you to do this if you can’t afford it, but it is definitely something you should put into consideration if you are serious about blogging.
Your writer doesn’t have to be perfect, but you definitely want one that is reliable and can get you those articles when you need them done.
Get Rid of Distractions
If there was one thing I wish I never started doing, it has to be playing Candy Crush! There is nothing more distracting and addicting than that app.
If you have the same problem, you might want to think about what priorities you have. If you want to be a successful blogger, playing Candy Crush will not help you. Trust me!
There are many other distractions, like friends, TV, and life. Being that I work from home full-time, I contribute most of my time to my business, which is also what you need to do.
Create a Better Blogging Environment
I used to work in my bedroom, but I started to see how unproductive I was. As soon as I created a little makeshift office in my storage, I started to create more quality content. You don’t need a full blown office, but you do need a place that you can blog and focus.
A desk would be nice, but it is not necessary. I highly recommend you get one, as it will allow you to concentrate more on what you are writing about.
I work from a desk, but this article is being done from my laptop, while I give into something I don’t condone, which is watching TV and blogging.
If you can blog on your laptop, then more power to you. Just don’t try and create content when you are not putting in the quality work that is necessary to get things done.
My Start as a Blogger
The beginning is always the easiest because your motivation is through the roof. Once you get all doubt about blogs making money, then you can focus on the aspects of how the money is made and doing what it takes to make that happen.
Writing for your readers is awesome, but start making money and you can get lazy. It has happened to me and I know it has happened to many bloggers.
I have a buddy that ran a make money blog and was making tons of money in the beginning and he was the reason I knew blogging could actually work. He got complacent and his blog went down the drain.
Today I want to show you how I was able to stay out of that rut and keep my blogs making me money daily.
Just do it
Nike may have that trademarked, but in the world of blogging and managing of a website, the real trick is to just do it.
Get on your blog, pick a topic, and start typing. Getting started is the hard part, but once you get that out of the way, you can get a post done even if it takes you a long time.
The whole thing behind it is that you get a blog post out there to show these search engines that your blog is there to provide information to your readers regularly.
Exercise Everything
Just because your brain is moving, doesn’t mean your body shouldn’t. I used to be in top shape and my energy was through the roof. A few kids later and me getting out of the military has definitely allowed me to lose a lot of energy.
I now run at least twice a week, drop and do at least 50 pushups a day, and clean up around the house a lot more. These little practices have increased my energy level and it has helped me tremendously as a blogger.
I now blog at least 3x a week and thanks to these tips, I have managed to dig my blog out of its grave. If you follow these pointers, you can create a website and create content regularly so that you too can become a stay at home dad just like me.
