The Affiliate Marketing Engine

There are four components that make up affiliate marketing and I’m going to break down each one for you so that you can get a better understanding of a simple but not so simple concept.

1. Merchant – This is where the affiliate (you) tries to direct the customers to take some kind of action. This is also where the product is purchased, shipped and distributed, which means you have no part in anything after the customer leaves your page. Not bad, right?
2. Affiliate Network – The network is the place where you would choose from what products to promote as well as where you will get paid. There are millions of affiliate networks to choose from including Amazon, Ebay, and Walmart just to name a few.
3. Publisher –  The publisher is you. You will be the one to decide what products or services will go on your site.
4. Customer – The customer is exactly that, a customer. Unlike your traditional store though, the customers will be doing their shopping and info searching online. You as the affiliate will provide the information for these customers, which leads into the even funner part.

Making Money With Affiliate Marketing

It’s a very simple concept, but of course will require some training and a little guidance. Go in without this and you my friend will not make it.

Making money is actually really easy or at least getting setup to do it is.

You get affiliated with a company, get your personal affiliate links, and voila! You are now able to make money from that one link alone.

But not so fast.

In the world of making money online with affiliate marketing, you will most likely need to have your very own piece of online real estate.

Yes, a website.

Your website is the foundation for all your affiliate marketing transactions. So the first step in any successful affiliate marketing business is building a website.

A good, solid, foundation.

You must build a user-friendly website, which will provide your readers with the solution to whatever it is they are looking for.

I’m sure you’ve “Googled” something in your life and I’m sure almost the whole world has too.

At the end of every search, someone is making money, and in most cases it’s going to be people like me (and soon to be you), the affiliate.

You must find products to sell, which is not going to be a problem, because there are literally millions of products out there that these merchants want you to sell for them.

More money for you means more money for them, so it’s a win/win situation.

My advice is to use something that works. This is what will bring in the big bucks and you know people will always want that product so this product MUST work.

When I first started, I would try to promote products that I wouldn’t even buy, and of course you know where that got me.

Nowhere!

Choose great products that you know will sell, and please try to at the very least have used them yourself.

Helping people is the core to any online business so if you’re not helping people then I’m sure you’re not making money.

This may have been really simple to understand for some of you, but I’m sure it was the opposite for others.

Don’t worry, I was on the “I got it, but not really” side of things and I still managed to create a successful online business.

So we know that you need a website, some training, and maybe even some coaching.

The thing about this is that there is more to the equation.
