Setting a Writing Schedule is Critical to Blogging Success

Last Updated: August 30, 2018 //  by John

If you haven’t created a blogging schedule you might be just as lost as every other “blogger” that will probably be quitting next month.

Don’t be that guy (or gal).

I can’t stress how important setting a schedule and STICKING WITH IT is important as a blogger.

There are many reasons why you need this in place or you will become another statistic of failed bloggers.

I have seen too many people come and go within the blogging world and there are so many awesome domains that are sitting out there just waiting to expire.

Don’t let this happen to you by setting a blogging schedule.

Why Set a Schedule?

Every job out there comes with a routine and it isn’t any different in the blogging world.

Do without one and you’ll find yourself scratching your head wondering why you’re not making boatloads of money like everyone else.

Stick to your schedule and you my friend will become another success story.

Don’t stick to it and I’m sure you know the outcome.

With the years that I’ve been doing business online I have developed this enjoyment for blogging and I now run several successful blogs that all make money.

For someone that knew nothing about making money blogging I think I’m doing pretty good for myself, which is why I want to share some of what I’ve learned through trial and error.

Month 1 & 2: Excitement & Motivation

I remember when I started my first blog and how excited I was.

The thing about me was I didn’t start out wanting to become a blogger.

I wanted the money.

John, you greedy bastard!

As a matter of fact, blogging wasn’t something I was even interested in as I wasn’t looking to do anything “school” related.

I’ve tried all types of make money from home gigs just to find out that blogging is really only one of the few ways to make money from the internet.

Every other product out there that claims to show you the latest and greatest secret to making money online is just a way to fill their pockets.

Not Yours.

Starting a blog comes with so many emotions and I’m sure those of you great writers out there have the passion and drive to make a solid income online but it doesn’t always happen that way.

Bloggers Come, Bloggers Go

You sit there behind your computer with the hottest niche idea and can’t wait to start your very first post for your blog.

The first week consists of excitement and motivation and more drive and determination than anything you’ve ever done in your life.

“I’m going to make money blogging and make tons of money from the internet!”

This is what everyone thinks and then they find themselves still at the same 9-5  talking about  “blogging’s not for me”.

I’m sure if they even made just $1, blogging would’ve been for them.

What a shame.

Month 3: Lost Motivation & Thoughts About Quitting

Here’s where most wannabe bloggers find themselves in a situation they never saw coming.

No traffic, no sales, and no motivation.

Although a very critical month in any blogger’s career, this is where things start leading to some disappointment and for most they will end up quitting.

If you’ve made it past the 3 month mark all I have to say is you are doing awesome!

keep pushing forward and on schedule of course as this is a very critical point in your blogging career.

This is what separates the real bloggers from those that just came here looking for money to fall on their keyboard or something.

Not gonna happen.

You need to keep at it and you need to understand that this is now apart of your life.

Your Blog is Priority, No Matter What

Too often people work around their blog and that’s completely normal, especially when you’re not making any money.

Your job is mandatory and then you are probably a parent and there’s no avoiding that either.

Newsflash: We all have them!

This does not mean that you put off blogging and it should very much be included in your already busy schedule.

Get off late?

Start a post, do 300 words or something, but don’t go days without doing anything on your site.

I’ll be getting into that here soon so do pay attention.

So How Do You Make it Work?

It’s actually really easy and I want to show you what my blogging schedule looks like so you can make this whole thing work.

First, get a fricken whiteboard.

Don’t just get a whiteboard but use it, and use it a lot.

Set goals, set a schedule, and stick to it.

I can’t stress enough about how you need to stick with it.

You don’t need to get all fancy and get one of those extra large ones with a stand like those crazy network marketers use either.

Get one that you can put up on a wall and YOU can make use of.

If you can’t decide on how often you should blog, here’s some tips to help you setup your blogging schedule.

Let me give you a hand so that there’s no excuse as to why you’ve failed or quit by next week.

All successful bloggers do it and you need to follow in the footsteps of people that have actually made it.

Work Within Your Means

I’m sure most of you start off blogging every single day trying to chase that first affiliate sale, but this is also a great way to get you burnt out.

There is no golden number on how many posts you should do a week but you need to get well acquainted with something called consistency.

Consistency is KEY!

So should you do one post a day?

Two posts a week?

You decide.

Make a decision and stick with it.

For starters, I say you blog twice a week do one every 3 days.

Start a post today and edit it the next day so that you have a fresh set of eyes to see what you created the day before.

If you’re just really slow at typing, this is also great for you.

In the end, there’s no excuse as to why you can’t be another successful blogger.

Now go out there and set a blogging schedule so that you don’t become another statistic.

There’s so much money to be made online so forget about everything else and focus on you.

Again, set that schedule and stick to it!

Happy Blogging!
