What Tools Do You Really Need To Succeed With Blogging?

Last Updated: August 30, 2018 //  by John

Sure we all want to live the life of a stay at home mom or dad and follow in the footsteps of the millionaire bloggers that we only hear about but we tend to forget that they didn’t get there doing nothing.

I can tell you that there are so many benefits of blogging, but forget about the actual work that goes into it and you will very well be the next failed blogger in no time.

Today I want to talk about not just blogging, but how you need to go about things to actually find success in something so simple, yet profitable.

See exactly what I use to run my blogs and also what you need to do with these tools to succeed in the blogging world.

Blogging IS a Job

Of course you are the boss and you make your schedule and answer to no one besides maybe your other half, but you need to remember that this is not just a job, but it is something you plan on using to provide for you and your family.

Sure there are the gurus that market the whole idea that this isn’t a job, but let me just tell you that it is not only a job, but it can be one of the hardest if you don’t know what you’re doing.

There are also many components that go into a successful blog and if you’re lacking just one, you might not make it just like the millions who have come and gone.

If you can understand these few tips I have to share with you, I can promise you that you will be another successful blogger.

Every Blog Starts With the Right Mindset

Most people only think of blogging as a way to talk about your life and whatnot, but that’s why we have Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

These days, blogging is not just a way to make a living, but it is also a way to share a specific interest with the online world.

It has to be done this way and not the other.

Focus on writing for your audience and as long as you know a thing or two about monetizing a blog, the money will definitely follow.

You also need to keep in mind that this is a real business and not just some site to air out your problems like you can already do on Facebook.

Understand that this is YOUR business and if you can’t comprehend that much, you have no business (no pun intended) trying to start a blog.

Period.

You Need The Right Tools For Blogging

Every blogger has their arsenal and you need to have yours too.

I’m sure we all use similar tools, but you still get to pick and choose what to use even if there aren’t many options out there.

From the training all the way down to the support, you are going to need a bunch of stuff in order to succeed and you can’t be missing one or you’ll be scratching your head later on down the road wondering why you’re not making a single penny.

Through the 3 short years of running several money producing blogs, I have “cracked the code” to what it really takes to be a successful blogger and I will be sharing every single one of them within this post.

Follow what I have to say here and I can promise you that you will become a successful blogger yourself, whether you are a good writer or not.

Training

First you need to understand what in the world you’re doing, which is going to require some solid, up to date training.

Sure you can find a bunch of this stuff for free if you really wanted to, but that’s just as good as picking up a book on how to fly a plane thinking you’re going to be a pilot tomorrow.

In the world of blogging, there’s a lot more to it than just reading up on it and going out there making big things happen.

this is just the first tool, but at the very least, get the right training or you’re doomed.

Support

Not everyone can read, watch, or listen to something and grasp the whole concept, especially when it comes to blogging and making money online.

One thing that I’ve come to understand is that you need some type of guidance to go with that training or you’ll be just as lost as you are now.

Nothing beats having someone to go to when you have a simple question like “how do I pick a niche?” or “how do I put an ad on my site?”.

Not having the answer to simple questions will leave you frustrated, confused, and most likely throwing in the towel a lot sooner than expected.

Try going in this without a solid support group and again, you’ll wonder why you’re even doing this in the first place.

A Website – The Simpler The Better

Gone are the days of crazy computer coding to get a website up and running and gone are the days of getting a domain in one place, hosting in another place, and a website builder in another.

Thanks to programs like the Wealthy Affiliate, you can have all this good stuff in one place and not have to worry about waiting days to get one site up and running.

If you tried this whole blogging thing just 5 years ago, that type of service didn’t exist and if you didn’t have the patience, you won’t last.

As far as the technical side is concerned, these components are all you need to have you first blog up and running.

The other half is nothing but the right mindset and understanding of how the whole blogging process works.

Blogging Takes Time

So you have your new website in place, you did 10 blog posts, and you’re ready to start raking in the dough.

If only it was that easy, everyone in my family will be running their own blogs, to include my 2 year old son that hangs out on Youtube all day.

Blogging and success don’t go in the same sentence within your first few months of operation, so forget about this part for now or you might just get depressed.

There is no business that will make you rich overnight and the same thing applies to running a simple blog.

No One Trusts You And Google Doesn’t Either

Would you trust a site that’s been around for 2 months or one that’s been around for 2 years?

Probably the 2 year old site and that’s exactly how Google thinks.

To make things even more complicated, people have a two month old site with 5 blog posts and still expect to be on Google’s good side.

Just like any job out there, it’s going to take time before you can move up the ranks and it isn’t any different with blogs.

Money Should Be the Least of Your Worries

I see it time and time again where a new blogger worries so much about joining affiliate programs before they even publish their first post.

This is very much a cart before the horse situation and one of the biggest reasons people fail as a blogger.

I’ll admit it too, I was one of those people and boy did I find out the hard way.

As a matter of fact, I came into the online world simply looking for a way to make real money online and I did not for one second think that I would be blogging.

So yes, I too focused too much on the money rather than building out a blog the right way.

Poor mistake, but I definitely fixed things for the better.

Are You Cutout For Blogging?

Not everyone can do this type of stuff even if we all think we can.

It takes a very special individual to stick through this type of stuff even if you’re not making a single penny.

Knowing you’re not going to make any money for months is not what you want to hear, but it is definitely something to consider before starting your very own blog.

Expect to make some sacrifices as well because although I work from home, I still have to wake up at 4am just to get my work done or I just won’t get any done once the kids are up.

In the end, you can and will succeed as a blogger if you really wanted to.

I was once told that I would never make it as a blogger online and all that did was push me to make everything work.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it either, put in the work, and understand what tools you really need to make it in the blogging world.

Thanks for reading my post and I hope that I have given you a solid post on becoming a successful blogger.

Cheers!
