The Truth Behind Why People Fall For MLM Pyramid Schemes Will Surprise You

Last Updated: August 30, 2018 //  by John

I can’t help but notice the amount of people promoting all types of MLMs and pyramid type schemes on social media although I use it for my business.

Almost everything someone posts is somewhat related to the program they are in with the occasional post of food to cover up their over promotion of their “business”.

Everyone claims to be doing online marketing when all I see are recruiting based programs that will only make you money if someone joins you and/or your team.

I am an online marketer and not once do I ever post my products on my Facebook wall although I have nothing but business acquaintances on there.

So why is everyone falling for pyramid based schemes?

Times Are Tough

Things just aren’t the same and everyone is looking for some kind of breakthrough as far as finances are concerned.

The media has nothing but bad news and there is no sign of the economy going up, leaving everyone in panic and searching for ways to bring in some extra money.

The bills aren’t going to magically disappear and the cost to live is not going down either and that leaves everyone looking for every alternative possible.

This my friend, is what you call desperation and that is where everyone is at these days.

Most People Just Don’t Know Any Better

As much as we all want to make extra money and ultimately kick that 9-5 to the curb it is most likely not going to happen by getting people to join your coffee based pyramid project, like I was once in many, many moons ago.

I was once in that situation until I found out that recruiting people into your business wasn’t the only way to make money online.

To a lot of people, the only opportunity for the little guy is to join an MLM.

Whether it be some make you look younger facial cream or some lipstick based business like Senegence, we tend to forget about the traditional business model of selling actual products.

I used to think that I needed that ONE product that I actually liked that came with the best compensation plan that MLM had to offer, but I think I was just brainwashed.

I didn’t know any other opportunity existed simply because everything else was nothing but a too good to be true scheme that only made the owner of the product rich and of course I wasn’t smart enough to even see that.

So it’s either you join an MLM scam or you continue working for other people and that was it.

Not all MLMs are scams, though.

If MLM was a scam, companies like Amway will not be around and I’m sorry to say, but they will probably be around for a lot longer too.

Some gurus try to talk bad about these lotions and potions businesses, when it is only a way to promote their scam to you.

So what do you really expect people to do?

Try their hardest to get you to join their pyramid and there’s no better way to do it than through the easiest way to meet new people.

Social media.

I Already Invested, Now There’s No Turning Back

The biggest problem I find with most network marketers is the fact that they feel bound to a program because they have already invested.

Then they go around picking little fights about how their company is different from other companies, when they are really nothing but the same thing.

Most can’t cut their losses and admit to being apart of something that is just not going to do it, and that is a HUGE reason as to why they are still involved with them.

Too afraid to disappoint everyone and/or too afraid to admit defeat.

I was once in that position, so I know exactly how they feel.

Then We Have The Beyond Confused

These are the people that have a different “opportunity” every single week.

I mean, how do people trust someone who has “the one” every single time?

Are you not seeing the pattern of you paying money to someone who is only trying to recruit you into their team so that they can make money?

Because it is happening as we speak and there are thousands of people doing this.

Not cool at all.

But Wait, There is a Way

If you’re thinking that you are either going to make this MLM thing work or that’s it, you need to change the way you think, and change it fast.

First you need to put that pride aside and realize that you’re not here to impress everyone and you need to forget about what others think.

Who are YOU doing this for?

What are YOUR goals?

Understand that your real family and friends (not FB friends) are immune to the pyramid schemes and will always tell you it’s a scam and that’s just how it is.

Like I said though, who are you doing this for?

I may sound very contradicting, but you need to think for yourself no matter if something is a scam or not as they are designed to make everyone at the top money.

And if you’re not cut out for it, you’ll find yourself at that 9-5 come this time next year, unless of course you take action.

If you’ve joined more than 1 program in a year, you’re most likely in the wrong network and you need to separate yourself or you’ll end up thinking everything online is a scam.

So What Other Real Opportunities Are Out There?

MLM may not be the only way and there isn’t going to be many options either.

It’s either you do some network marketing and fail, or create a real business, selling real products the right way.

Now who said you needed your own products?

Because you don’t.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of something called affiliate marketing, but I want to introduce it to you if you haven’t.

Now if you’ve heard about it and someone used their shady marketing on you telling you that it’s dead, I want you to forget what everything they said, because it will NEVER die.

I do it for a living and I don’t recruit a single person to make any money.

I also never tell anyone about it, because I’m just too busy working on MY business rather than trying to tell people how awesome this new business I’m in really is.

Think about it.

Give affiliate marketing a chance and you will see how awesome it is to NOT have to talk to a single person and still make money.

Read more here on the same exact program that I used to learn everything I know about making money online and you will see how a real online business is made.

Conclusion

Don’t fall for pyramid schemes.

Multilevel marketing will always be around but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be the solution to all your financial problems.

Let’s say you built a downline of 50 people and things are going great.

What if even just half of them quit or the company gets shutdown just like a lot of them out there, what will you do then?

Most likely give up completely (because the work is not worth it) or try your luck with one more program simply because you want to be your own boss.

It’s crazy, but this is exactly why people are involved with the many scams that cross their path.

Save yourself the time and money, and put it into a real business or be apart of the 98% that are really not making any money online.

Sad but true.

Share this with every person on your wall that has a new “opportunity” every other day and if this person is you, laugh about it and share it anyways.

I hope this post gives you a better understanding of what people are really doing, and learn from it.

Don’t become another statistic and please try to think outside the box.

You can do a lot more than you think, so regroup, start your own business, and you will have an awesome 2018.

In the meantime, put in the work and stop trying to promote your latest and greatest product.

And if you’re still not making that residual income that you claim to make, you’re not an online marketer, so just stop while you’re ahead.

LOL!
