I remember the days when I used to think that multilevel marketing was the only way to make money online, until I came across this thing called online marketing.
This is the same exact thing that has allowed me to quit my job and be the stay at home dad that I am. Read further into this post and see how you too can benefit from this wonderful thing called the internet.
What is Online Marketing?
Online marketing is nothing more than selling other people’s products and in turn getting a commission for doing just that.
Sounds pretty simple right? If you’re like me and you’re not the most computer savvy dude, it is going to take a lot more than knowing how to turn on a computer and move a mouse around.
Other Ways to Work From Home
I’ll admit, I was once big into MLM and I praised it as well as labeled it as the only way out of your day job. But that was then and this is now.
If it wasn’t for a nice little infomercial from a dude named Anthony Morrison, I would have no idea that money could be made from home without recruiting people.
This scammer was really good at what he did and yes I fell for his scam. The thing that really pissed me off was that he was making a lot of people think that every “opportunity” online was nothing more than a big fat scam.
Be Scam Smart
Just because I dumped $21 (chump change) into this scam, I didn’t let that stop me. I did more research and that’s when I came across the Wealthy Affiliate.
If it wasn’t for the fine folks at the here, I really would be stuck at my 9-5 and still be trying to push out the latest and greatest multilevel marketing business to family and friends.
Don’t get me wrong folks, there are literally thousands of scams out there that claim to make you money online, but the only ones making money is the owner of the product and anyone affiliated with it.
To me, I knew there had to be a way. I ran into a couple of more scams before finding a legit way to make money online.
Breaking Out of Your Comfort Zone
Unlike most people that hate their jobs, I actually liked mine. There was just one little problem that I had there and no it wasn’t that I hated my boss either.
Okay it was more of a big problem. It didn’t pay crap! I was tired of living the paycheck to paycheck lifestyle and that was when I knew I had to make a move or I would be stuck there for the rest of my life.
I don’t care how long I worked there, I would never make any type of life changing income unless I won the lottery. That’s when I did some life changing stuff.
I Went All in!
Okay maybe I went all out. I quit my job, got out of the military, and dropped out of college all at once. Something I don’t suggest to anyone without a plan.
Was it worth it? Absolutely! Well, at first it was actually a big eye opener for me and I think it was actually a bonehead move on my part.
Although I make a full-time income online, I think I could’ve put a little more thought and maybe came up with a game plan before giving my boss the bird. Okay I didn’t do that, but I did quit.
Fast Forward a Year
Let me just tell you that quitting my job and moving to the online world was not some type of immediate success story. As a matter of fact, I experienced one of the craziest points after that.
I went through the hardest times in my life, because I decided to open a bar and run an online business at the same time. Bad idea.
I ended up closing the bar and giving 100% of my time to build my business and the rest is history. It only took a whole year!
I am now a full-time online marketer and I can finally say that I make more money than I ever did than all of my past jobs put together.
I no longer deal with hounding family and friends or pissing complete strangers off, trying to show them how this product along with its compensation plan will be the solution to their financial problems.
MLM is Nothing New
With everyone and their mothers knowing what multilevel marketing is, your chances of getting people to join your “team” is a lot harder than when MLM was more on the quiet side.
Nowadays, everyone is trying their hardest to make you join them on their business venture, which will have you alongside the 98% of them that are doing nothing but feeding the pockets of those at the top.
Don’t get me wrong, you can make some good money with it if you know how to sweet talk people, but other than that, you might want to think about things before you join something you’re not very familiar with.
