I’m not the best writer and I never even liked it to begin with. But it’s actually a big part of online success, and it plays a huge role in website development.
Of course you can outsource it, but what if you don’t have the money to do that, especially when you’re just starting out?
I’ve find out how to make money writing from the comfort of my own home and it’s not even as hard as the experts are claiming it to be.
With some practice and consistency, you can be writing like a complete champ in no time. I’m going to explain in this article how you can start writing and making money within your first week at the very least.
Read on to see how I make money while I’m sleeping 🙂
1. Freelance Writing
This is the method I was talking about above, this is the one that can get you some mula (money) in a fast amount of time.
Fiverr.com is filled with people wanting writers, and the best part about it, some of them don’t want that much in return. You could easily whack out a 300-500 word article for a quick $5.
But please do not copy and paste from other websites, this will not only give you a bad reputation on these websites but you’re more than likely not going to get paid for your efforts.
Here’s a list of some of my favorites:
- Fiverr
- Upwork (previously oDesk)
- Elance
- Freelancer
Don’t get overwhelmed with all the different ones either, just choose one, make a profile and start writing 🙂
2. Blogging
One of my all-time favorite methods to making money online: Blogging.
I love blogging because it is your online real estate, it is where you can increase the value of your site with the more work you put into it.
However, this method can take a tremendously long amount of time before you start seeing revenue for your work – at least 3 months, and sometimes even more depending on your niche.
But in the end, it is much more worth it than freelancing.
With freelancing, you only get paid for the amount of words you do, just one time.
But when you blog, the content is on YOUR website.
So when it ranks, you make money for years to come just off that one website.
3. Put Them Together
One method that works very well: freelancing and blogging together.
That way you get the best of both worlds.
You can get some cash upfront, and then on the side, you’re building your money-making empire.
Keep in mind though, it isn’t that easy if you’re a newbie. But if you happen to be a confident writer and hard worker, than this could definitely work for you.
What Do I Recommend?
I would rather you create your own blog first, learn the ropes and get some practice up your sleeve in the process.
You will easily be able to make some money off Fiverr at first, but the other freelancing sites I have mentioned may require more experienced writers.
So what you should do is get yourself a blog, pick a niche, do some keyword research, and then begin to write on your website.
The secret is to serve your audience with helpful content.
Don’t try and sell to them in every single article because you are literally going to get nowhere and your website isn’t going to rank.
A lot of people fail at this and end up getting hit by the Google updates, simply because they make what we call a “thin website”, meaning it has affiliate links on every single page.
These do not rank very well, and if they do, it’s only temporary.
What You Should Do Now
Take action – Of course the only way to get better at writing is by taking ACTION. You aren’t going to get better just by reading.
Without any action you are just another person that wants to work from home.
When you take action and put in the work/effort, you are already doing more than 90% of the population.
Stay Consistent – Again, to be above the 95% of the population is to actually keep blogging and post at least 2 articles a week.
Never Give Up – If you want to be the small 3% who actually make a living online from writing, then you need realize giving up is not an option.
When you give up, you are giving up a great future for yourself.
Don’t do this, don’t be the 97% of the population, be the low 3% who push through the months of hard work.
Do something today that your future self will thank you for!
Keep Practicing – Last but not least, to get better at writing only requires practice.
That’s it.
You will get better automatically as long as you are being consistent throughout your journey.
Just like everything in life, when you practice at something for long enough you automatically get better.
Trust me, I was the worst writer that I know and if I showed you some of the stuff I wrote in the early days of my career, you wouldn’t believe that was me.
I’m still not the best, but I make my living from it and I must say that it’s amazing!
Implement Affiliate Marketing Into Your Website
One of the easiest ways to make money from your website is by doing affiliate marketing.
You don’t need to own a product, all you need to do is send someone through your link, when they purchase, you get paid for your efforts.
It’s that simple.
An Easier Way
This sounds all too difficult though John, how am I suppose to start up a blog and begin writing when I have no tech skills whatsoever?
Well it’s simple really.
I was in the exact same position as you, I had no idea where to start, especially because of all of the scams out on the internet these days.
All I had was a passion, and that passion was to make a living online just by writing.
I pushed myself and never gave up, and now look at what I’ve accomplished.
I want you to do the same too, because there are thousands of niches out there that anyone can rank for as long as they’re willing to put in the work.
I want to help and I want you to succeed as well.
There’s only one real place I recommend and it’s called the Wealthy Affiliate.
By far the best blogging platform on the net and you’ll see why.
It’s completely free to sign up and use right away too.
