So you want to learn how to become an online entrepreneur? I wish I thought the same thing when I got my start in business, but that’s not how things went for me.
For me, it never crossed my mind and I never saw myself doing any type of business on the internet. The only thing I knew was the fact that there were people making more money than I was.
I really don’t know what happened in between all of that, but fast forward 2 years and I’m just that.
An online entrepreneur.
Gone are the days of traditional businesses for me. Any and every type of business I do is done online even if I try to tell myself that I’m going to open some type of physical store, it never happens.
So Why Do Business Online?
It just makes perfect sense, that’s why.
There are just so many reasons as to why I focus everything online and that is always the reason why I find myself behind a computer rather than behind the scenes at a bar that came with nothing but headache.
There are so many reasons why doing business online is the best route and I want to show you why. I don’t even know where to start, because there are just too many reasons.
All I can say is that even just one of these reasons is enough for me to go from your traditional business to becoming a straight up online entrepreneur.
1.) You are the Boss
Just like a regular business, you are the boss. No one to tell you what to do and no one to tell you where to do it either.
In my case, my kids are the boss. They are the very reason I set out to be an online entrepreneur in the first place, so they pretty much dictate when I work.
Those skallywags!
And iff you think that online entrepreneurs don’t have employees, think again. I have a solid team behind me and they take on a lot of the workload.
I tell them what to do, they get it done, and they get paid. This also helps me when it comes time for tax season, so employees are always great to have.
Once I got my first taste of being my own boss, I don’t think I would ever have another one in my life. With the way things are going right now, it looks like it’s going to stay that way.
2.) The Dream Lifestyle
Everyone wants to work from home. The thing is no one even knows how. I’m sure you’re come across some type of multilevel marketing business and you probably thought that’s all there was.
That’s what I used to think too, so don’t worry. The one thing I did do is figure out how these young kids are becoming so wealthy and they aren’t even selling some lotions and potions type gig.
Come to find out that they are actually running their own business rather than paying everyone at the top of the pyramid scheme.
There is no way that I’m going to let some kid outdo me in business. Not on my watch!
3.) Cheapest Startup
If you’ve done any type of business, you know how much that can cost you. With the online world, you spend nothing close to that and it’s really crazy if I told you.
Let’s just say that I spend less than $50 to run my business every single month. The thing is, there are some of you (not so entrepreneur like) people that think that is expensive, but that’s because you have never spent thousands of dollars to start your own business.
It took me $20,000 to get my bar off the ground and even at that, you can’t say that’s a lot because it really isn’t . I got lucky and that’s why it was so low.
4.) What Overhead?
I remember when I used to calculate all my overhead expenses and how that was what my business was based around. Whew!
I spent at least $5,000 on overhead alone! Measuring profits and actually having money to spend almost never came within my first year and I’m glad that’s not how it is online.
How about spending less than $50 to run a business? That’s unheard of in the real world, but a reality when it comes to the online world.

5.) The Biggest Market in the World
I can promise you that your store or whatever physical business you have will never get as many customers that you could get online.
With your traditional business, there’s a ceiling.
With an online business, there is none.
This reason alone should be enough for any businessman to jump ship and see what the world wide web has to offer.
With billions of people spending millions of dollars, there is not one country that can hold all of that.

6.) Who DON’T You Know Shops Online?
Everyone and their mothers (literally) are shopping online. Every time I mention that I’m going to buy something, my other half says “buy it online”.
With the free shipping and stores like Amazon.com, you can get almost anything you can online and have it shipped to your door.
What’s even cooler is the fact that you can make money selling Amazon products, which I will be getting into on my next reason why you should be an online entrepreneur.
I found myself buying stuff online way back in 2005 and I was on a deployment to Iraq. I trusted the internet then and I trust the internet now especially with sites like Paypal that have such a strict customer satisfaction policy.
If you don’t get your product, you get your money back. No questions asked.
7.) You Don’t Need Your Own Product
Yup, you read that right. I do business online and I don’t own a single product of my own. On top of that, I don’t ever see any of the stuff I sell.
I make money selling other people’s products and it is done the same way I would if I owned my own actual store.
Besides the fact that…
- I don’t own the product
- I don’t have to pay for it upfront
- I don’t deal with returns
- I don’t ship anything
- I get paid electronically
Thanks to something called affiliate marketing, you don’t ever have to deal with any type of product creation or even dealing with crazy wholesaling companies.
8.) All You Need is a Laptop and an Internet Connection
For a regular business, you almost need a computer to make things happen. In an online business, that’s really all you need.
I work from home, I work at a coffee shop, and I work and make money while on vacation. I love what I do so I don’t consider it work. Don’t you think making money is fun?
9.) Billions of Dollars are Spent Online
There’s a market for every product or service that is available out there. There are also billions of dollars being spent online just for these things.
If you haven’t “Googled” something in your life, then I think it’s time you get out from under that rock. Just so you know, there is money being made behind every search that comes through the search engines.
The way things are done online still amaze me up to this day.
Helping people find what they’re looking for?
Getting paid for people clicking on ads?
Getting paid for things people are already buying?
You really can’t ask for a better job and that is why I love what I do. Helping people is a serious passion of mine and doing what I do makes it that much better.
10.) Income Potential is Through the Roof
The amount of money rolling around the web is amazing. What’s even more amazing is the fact that you can tap into that and make a wealthy living in the process.
I remember sitting at my bar thinking of ways to make more money.
Ways to get more customers.
The reality of things was the fact that I was working with a ceiling. Scientifically, there was just no way to make more money unless I had a bigger space.
Now, I have all the space I need and it lies somewhere in the clouds. That day has changed the way I run my businesses and I don’t think I’d ever run a bar again.
