Can you really make money writing on Fiverr.com?
I’m sure we can all use a little extra cash and with a site like this, I’m sure you can make some extra cash by writing simple articles.
Who knows, maybe you can even do this full-time which I’m sure you won’t mind doing.
To be completely transparent, let me just say that I’m not on the receiving end when it comes to exchanging money on Fiverr as I’m usually the one paying others to get work done for me.
Being that I pay real money for people to do some work for me, I’m sure I can give you the right advice and point you in the right direction.
So what is Fiverr?
Fiverr is a site that allows you to get simple tasks done for a whopping $5.
Although they do start at $5, it can go as high as $10,000.
Yikes!
I usually get graphics and headers done on there, but I have also tried some of the writers, which is not the easiest thing to do.
They offer other silly jobs like, getting your Tweet retweeted and even doing a funny video, but can get really serious like legal writing and business copywriting.
Getting Started With Fiverr
Creating an account is really simple and it comes with the same process of signing up with any other site like Facebook and Twitter.
Once you get in, you can start posting your service to try and get work done or you can request to get work done from one of 3 million services provided on the site.
The total is actually $6 as I’m sure the owner of the site has to make their money somehow and that is where it comes from.
Now for $6, I’m sure you won’t mind giving that $1 away.
Creating a “Gig” and Getting Paid
Once you’ve completed the signup process, you are now ready to post your first gig and of course make some money.
If someone requests a gig from you, a notification will be sent to your email address, from which you will get and request for more information if need be so you have a clear understanding of what they need.
Your communication with your customers will be through a messenger type service, which works great with the Fiverr app if you just so happen to be on the go.
How to Get Noticed
It sounds like you get in, create a job, and immediately start getting clients, right?
Well, not exactly.
So in order for you to get some people to see your service and get a “featured” spot, you will have to get established before you can see your gig on the first page of listings.
Very much similar to getting ranked in Google but with a lot less competition.
Still not an easy task, but if you can follow these tips, you might beat out the competition.
Create quality work
There are way too many writers on Fiverr that do writing jobs but really have no skills whatsoever and then ask to get good feedback for their crappy work.
Please don’t do that.
Not only will you get bumped to the end of the list, but no one will trust you and give you a good rating, which also leads into our next tip.
Always Ask for a Good Review After You’ve completed Your Work
Getting that 5 star rating after every job you’ve done is a big deal when it comes to getting featured, so ALWAYS as your customers to give you a good rating even if you want them to be honest.
DO NOT Copy Anyone’s Work
Plagiarism and copy/paste methods is a great way for you to get a low rating as well as kicked out of the site.
Things have changed on Fiverr so abide by the rules or you’ll get kicked out onto the streets.
Satisfy Your Customers
If they’re not satisfied with your work, you need to do something about it.
If it means doing the whole article again, learn your lesson, do another job, and don’t do that same mistake again.
There are so many bad writers on there, so if you can do the complete opposite of what they do, I’m sure you can get to the top faster than most people.
More Work = More Money
Apply these tips and not only will you get noticed and trusted, but you will have more customers that NEED your type of work.
The more customers you have will result in more work and most especially more money.
Imagine getting 5 jobs a day, throwing in a few up-sells to make it $10, instead of $5, this type of stuff will add up quick.
Now if you plan on making $5 for a 1,000 word article, let’s just say that you are wasting your time and this is also the same reason I always tell people with any type of writing ability to start a blog of their own.
By far the best way to make money as a writer and you’ll be crazy to not give it a try.
Interested in starting your own blog, check this program out here and see how you can actually get started for free, using the same exact platform I use.
Pros & Cons of Fiverr
Pros:
- You will make money
- Site has evolved and is a lot easier to use
- You can make more than $5
- Instant payments
- There’s an app
Cons:
- Not the best option for writers
Final Opinion on Fiverr
I think Fiverr is great, but more for those of you looking to get work done.
As a writer, I think you’ll be wasting your amazing skill by working for such a low pay, so definitely consider doing some affiliate marketing as there is just too much money to be made online.
Other than that, I think the overall site is amazing and I don’t see it going anywhere for a really long time.
For any type of graphic work, I think you can find some decent work that will be worth more than $5.
Utilize the app because I use it all the time and it makes communication between buyer and seller a lot easier and it works like a charm.
What I Recommend
Now if you want to make the most of your writing ability, you definitely need to try a program called the Wealthy Affiliate.
It is the same exact place that I use to make my money and I’m sure you’ll like what they have to offer, especially if you’re somewhat of a writer.
Click here to see a full review on what I think is the best program on the net today as far as making money online is concerned.
Now if you want to make money writing on Fiverr, that is completely fine, as long as you’re willing to accept the pay.
As long as you’re doing something, I’m sure you’ll do just fine with whatever you choose to do.
