Do you love sports? That can also be a blog.
Maybe you love to cook. Or garden. Or golf. Or play tennis.
You name a hobby, and there is a blogging opportunity out there that will make an appropriate fit for it.

There is a big market for medical record transcribers, but this is also more challenging work (as many of the terms used are so foreign to the average person that they are difficult to quickly transcribe).
However, if you are not comfortable going this route, you certainly don’t have to.

When people think of the responsibilities of the work from home professional, there is one job that often comes to mind: the phone service operator.
These jobs are often dreaded because frankly, they put you in the path of a lot of aggravated people. The work from home service representative does the same work as people who are working at a call center: they handle the questions and complaints of customers who are having issues with a product or service.
We have all called into a customer service hotline before, and many of us have even been rude to the person on the other end of the phone.
This work definitely is not for everyone. You are going to hear from aggravated people, and chances are that many of them will take that frustration out on you.
Perhaps in your fifty plus years of experience you feel that you have become good enough with people to make this job work.

Why? Potential employers in need of a virtual assistant are going to really value a candidate with past experience, and proven responsibility.
If your resume indicates that you have both, you are going to stand out a lot more than people who are just now entering into the workforce.
There are both part and full time opportunities available for people considering the work of the work from home assistant, though unlike most work from home jobs, this opportunity will generally be subject to the schedule of your employer, which means you will have a little bit less freedom than you would have with some of the other opportunities that we have discussed.
Still, the tradeoff could very well be worth it to many applicants.
With a regimented schedule comes more consistent work hours, and a stable income. Some personal assistant positions have all of the benefits of a traditional hire, including a regular salary, and perhaps even benefits, while other contracts are on a freelance basis.
And of course, like all of these jobs, applicants interested in working as a personal assistant need only to look online.
The Survey Taker:
Perhaps you are more in the retirement stage of life, but would still like a work opportunity that can provide you with a little bit of extra spending money.
If this describes your situation, then the work of a survey taker might be right for you.
Survey taking is exactly what it sounds like it would be. You fill out surveys that are usually on a wide variety of topics, and then are paid small sums for the information.
The surveys are generally designed to assist with product marketing for people of certain demographics, though their application is not necessarily always known by the taker of the survey.
Pay definitely is not very good here—usually between $5-10 an hour, but if you are not depending on the money to pay your mortgage then survey taking could be a viable option for you.
The work is not at all mentally taxing, and can be done while you watch movies or television. Again, if you are using this money to pay the bills, the life of the survey taker probably is not going to be for you.
On the other hand, if you just want another $30-40 a day of walking around money, this is an opportunity to think about.
Just be careful before you get started. There are plenty of scam sites out there that don’t pay out as promised. Do your research before you sign up.
