Entering the online world we all have really big goals and dreams.
We work our butts off and grind it out until we finally make that first $1.
Time goes on and we grow our incomes until we realize that things have changed and you’re no longer being as productive as you were when you wrote that first blog post.
A lot of things happen and we don’t even know it, which is why I want to explain why a lot of you are struggling to hit that $10k/month mark.
You most likely already know them but if you’re like me, you might have to be told.
So if you are struggling with this whole make money online thing, one or all of these reasons might be why you’re not where you want to be.
1.) You Don’t Understand
Getting into the world of making money online is not as easy as it sounds.
First you have to deal with the many scammers and trying to find the right program and then you have to learn and apply what is needed.
For some of you, you still might not understand what you’re doing and I don’t mean how everything works.
I’m talking about not understanding that the potential of making thousands of dollars is all at your fingertips.
Believe in what you’re doing, apply yourself, and work your butt off.
If you can do that, you can very much make over $10k/month + from the internet.
2.) Lack of Effort
This very much goes hand in hand with laziness but it is a bit different.
Some of you might be working but you might not be doing enough.
I’ve seen too many people get in all fired up and then get to a point where they are doing nothing but checking their stats to see if they have made any sales.
You do more stat watching than writing posts that time flies and you find yourself doing just 10 articles for the month.
That my friend is completely unacceptable and I think you are better off working at a regular job than putting in such little effort.
If you want to make the type of money that super affiliates are making, you are going to need to take things seriously and you definitely need to put in more work.
Treat your online business like a real job and you can bet that you will make more money than you think.
Imagine just working 4 hours a day on your site and how much you can get done in such a short amount of time.
Do that 5 days a week and you will see great results.
3.) Too Much Going On
Having two of anything is really not that much when it comes to a lot of things.
Two dollars.
Two burgers.
Two kids.
It’s when you start getting into things like two thousand or two times something where it can start to seem a little bigger but for the most part, it isn’t that much.
The same thing applies when it comes to doing business online, especially when you’re doing something like affiliate marketing and running some websites.
Two (just two) websites might sound like a little but putting in the work for both of them becomes too much.
Too much that your work gets spread out too thin and you find yourself overwhelmed and getting a bit discouraged.
If you are just starting out and you are still trying to make that first $1, focus on one site, make some good money with that site, and then maybe think about doing another one.
Scaling one website is 10x better than trying to work on two that ends up becoming 1 post a week.
Don’t make the same mistake I and many others have done, early in their online careers.
4.) Distractions
Life happens and it always will.
You still have a day job so you need to do that.
You have your kid’s soccer games, so you have to go there.
You need to clean the house, so that needs to be done too.
Sound familiar?
Well that’s because we all have to go through the same exact stuff.
Your life is no different than any of ours as we all decided to look for a way to make money online and then join some program to make that money.
Within that goal of trying to make thousands of dollars every single month you will come across all types of things that will take you away from your online business.
By the time you’re done doing the usual, it’s time for bed and your website will have to sit another day without getting anew post published.
Stop it.
Get on some type of writing schedule and give your business the time it deserves.
Time will fly and you will do little to nothing in a year’s time so if this sounds like you, now would be a great time to wake up and smell the coffee.
5.) Complaceny
A lot of you successful online entrepreneurs can probably agree with this one.
You start making money and you go back to living and doing the bare minimum just to keep that income rolling.
Days, months, and even years go by and you realize that your business has stopped growing.
As a human being, we will all get comfortable when we are making a good amount of money but that is a great way for you to hit a plateau.
If you feel yourself starting to get lazy or finding all kinds of excuses to not blog, don’t do it.
I’ve gone down this road before and it is not fun.
Conclusion
There is hope.
Just because you messed up now does not mean that you still can’t hit your goals that you started out with in the first place.
Remember that drive and passion you had when you first started and find the strength to overcome the many obstacles that we as online entrepreneurs have to deal with.
If you haven’t written down any goals for this year, grab yourself a whiteboard if you don’t already have one and start writing on it.
It is still early in the year so you have time to turn things around and accomplish your goals.
For those of you who are still trying to make it, all I have to say is don’t make the same mistakes that most of us have been through and you should be good to go.
Dig deep, put in the work, and you will get to where you want to be no matter what.
I’m sure there are many other reasons as to why some of you have yet to hit the $10k/month mark but I think these are the most obvious.
Until next time, don’t make these same mistakes I did and remember to always remain productive.
