Slicethepie Review: Will You Really Get Paid To Listen to Music?

July 25, 2018 //  by John

slice-the-pie-review

There isn’t much information on the actual website about what you will be doing and how things work and that is why I have put together this Slicethepie review.

Most of you have only heard that you can make money by simply listening to music but of course there’s more to it than just that.

Then there are those of you who are a bit skeptical about things and you might even think this is a scam.

There are a lot of questions with not that many answers and I would like to clarify a bunch of things with this this simple review of a company that seems legit.

So if you are thinking about joining this site to make some money, let me give you more information so that you can make a smarter decision rather than joining something just because it was free to join and you felt you had nothing to lose.

Slicethepie Review – Overview

“Slice the Pie” is a website that rewards you for reviewing products, doing small tasks and giving your honest opinion on songs and now other products related to fashion.

The site was started in 2007, with a way to get music artists recognized as well as for others to “have fun” giving their two cents on things.

In 2015 they added other review categories that included fashion and mobil accessories and has since added a few additions here and there but with little success.

They have managed to get 2 million reviewers in just over a decade, which is cool and all but I’m sure more than half of them aren’t currently active.

Follow along further and you’ll see why.

Who This is For

Obviously this is very focused on the music lover but this is really for anyone that is looking to make money doing simple reviews.

This is also great for anyone who has yet to make their first $1 online as I’m sure a lot of you have tried many different methods and probably ended up losing money.

Don’t forget that you can always check out my #1 recommended work from home program if you are interested in making more than a couple of bucks a month reviewing music.

How Slicethepie Works

There are millions of singers and designers out there that are always looking to improve their skills and there is no better way than by getting honest opinions and some constructive criticism.

That is where sites like Slicethepie comes into play.

By providing a review on songs and different products related to fashion you can get paid.

Each song takes about 90 seconds to listen to and then you are required to leave at least 60 words of unique content before getting approved.

Once approved, you will be able to get credit for your review.

After that, you will have to make at least $10 before you can see any money in your PayPal account.

On top of that, it will take 5 business days before you actually see it in your account.

Will Slicethepie Actually Pay and How Much?

They sure will.

However, this is where a lot of the problems also come about with this site.

First of all, you are only going to make $.01 – $.02 when starting out but that can be increased to $.05 if and when you get a higher rating on the site.

I know review sites don’t pay much but this is as low as it gets.

This is also the same reason why I like Swagbucks the most out of all the review type sites out there.

You can actually make as much as $.10 if you do a review in their fashion category but again, this will depend on your rating.

There is also a $10 threshold that needs to be met before you can see anything you’ve earned.

This all amounts to less than $5/hour and that is if you earn the max as each survey will take at least one minute.

Now if you include those surveys you get denied for and all the other hiccups, you will be making less than $2/hour which is actually really sad.

What they do have as a nice little referral program that will allow you to make money for referring others to the site.

For every person you bring into Slicethepie, you will make 10% of what they make for the first year that they are a member.

Once that year is up, you will stop earning commissions.

Not the best deal out there but it’s something.

Slicethepie Complaints

So first we know that you will already be making pennies (literally) for each review you complete.

A big problem some members are having is getting denied for a survey for silly reasons like…

“Review isn’t unique”

“Poor grammar”

You already have to deal with getting approved and now you have to make things perfect due to their crazy censoring that they have going on?

Is this really worth the pay?

Obviously not.

Is There a Better Way?

There sure is.

I personally do reviews on products myself and I make a lot more than just a penny for my opinion.

For a better survey type site, I would use Swagbucks or Survey Junkie as they pay a lot better and don’t have you jumping through hoops just to get paid.

You can also read this article to see how reviewing toys can actually pay you a lot more or you can actually start your own review site and get paid through affiliate marketing and/or advertising.

Either way, any of these options will actually blow Slice the Pie out of the water.

Final Verdict: Legit

At the very least I am glad to say that Slicethepie is actually a legitimate website that will pay.

Although they are only paying pennies, it is safe to say that they are not a scam.

Not your best bet for making money online but if you absolutely have not made a penny yet, this site will definitely accomplish that for you.

Would I recommend it?

Probably not as there are many options out there that will be a little more worth your time and effort.

Other than that, thanks for reading my review of Slicethepie and I hope that it has given you a better understanding of what you will be getting yourself into if you do decide to join.

Now you tell me, is Slicethepie really worth your time?

Slicethepie - Conclusion
1.9

Summary

The only thing I really like about Slicethepie is the fact that it is a legitimate review site. However, the pay and time it takes to do a review is just something I can’t agree with. Sure it is free to join but there are at least 10 other sites that offer the same type of work for a lot better pay. That is why we give Slicethepie 1.9/5 stars.
