Is Pampered Chef Really Worth Joining?

Last Updated: August 31, 2018 //  by John

pampered-chef-review

Pampered Chef is actually quite possibly a company that you were already aware of before you considered them from the perspective of a potential affiliate.

And that’s okay because there is a lot to like here.

The company, as you could probably guess by its name, is in the business of selling kitchen supplies.

We will talk more about the inventory that you will be expected to start moving a little bit later, but suffice it to say that if you like cooking, this may be a particularly good opportunity for you.

Popular products aside, this company also has the distinction of being about as well established as an MLM can ever hope to get.

Presently, they have an estimated 50,000 affiliates, they have been around since 1980, they have twelve million clients, and, oh yeah, they are owned by Warren Buffet.

Yeah, that Warren Buffet.

If the richest man in the world thought the company was proficient enough for him to want to acquire it (Buffet bought the company back in 2014) there is probably something to like about it, right?

Right.

But does their long history, as well as their titan of industry owner mean that joining Pampered Chef is a no brainer?

Not exactly.

Keep in mind that in the world of multi level marketing, circumstance generally tends to favor the higher ups of a company more than it does the affiliates.

In other words, the fact that Warren Buffet is making money from the company does not necessarily mean that you will make money.

It also doesn’t mean that you won’t. In order to get a better idea of how good of an opportunity this is for you we are going to have to dive deeper.

We will now take a look at what it takes to join up with the Berkshire Hathaway owned Pamper Chef.

Getting Started

Getting started at Pampered Chef is pretty standard in terms of what one would expect from a multi level marketing company.

As is true of most MLMs, there is no serious application process.

To join you simply go through a few simple steps, pay your fee and you will be the next Pampered Chef representative.

Yep, it’s that easy to start working for Warren Buffet.

The standard kit is going to set you back $160, but they do have a smaller more basic option that only costs $99.

The larger package comes with more product and information so that you can hit the ground running, while the smaller package features a little less to get you started, but it also lowers the level of overhead that you have to worry about clearing.

In terms of what one would come to expect for the entry fees of an MLM, Pampered Chef is actually a little bit higher than most, though not by a huge margin.

There are plenty of MLMs out there that allow you to join for between $30-100. Some are even free to start up.

If you decide to go with their more basic option you are going to be right on the pricier edge of that typical MLM average.

If you are new to MLMs this may seem a little bit intimidating, but do also keep in mind that other companies probably are not going to have the same credibility and name brand recognition that Pampered Chef has to offer.

As you would probably imagine, a company that people can easily recognize is going to be much easier to sell for than one no one has ever heard of.

And by the way, what exactly is it that you will be selling again? Let’s now take a look at the Pampered Chef product line.

What You Will be Selling

As we mentioned earlier, kitchen ware is the name of the game at Pampered Chef. After thirty eight years in the business, they have accumulated a pretty extensive product line.

They currently sell cook ware, oils, rubs, cookbooks and even some fun gadgets that are designed to help people make the process of food prep a little bit easier.

Here are a few products that you can expect to start selling once you join up: Gluten-free flour, Cherry Balsamic Vinegar, Spicy Pineapple Rum Sauce, Micro Cooker, Mini Tart Shaper, and Nylon Pan Scrapers.

There are plenty of other things out there as well, but you get the picture, right? The product line is pretty expansive, with a wide range of prices as well.

Generally speaking though, the products skew a little bit pricey. People aren’t buying from Pampered Chef because they want a really good deal.

Not a big deal. There is definitely a market out there for higher end kitchen stuff.

You also have the benefit of selling lots of sauces and usable flavoring products. Why is that a positive? Anytime you are selling a product that people use up regularly, you have the opportunity to build up easy repeat customers.

All in all there is really quite a bit to like about the product line of this company as well. Their stuff should be fairly easy to sell, which also means that maybe their slightly above average entry fee will be worth it for you.

Of course, you will have to decide that for yourself, but suffice it to say that their product line is looking pretty good in terms of how you will be able to sell it.

Compensation

Compensation is pretty standard. You get paid 20-27 percent on all of the items that you sell (depending on the sale of the given item at the moment).

You also get additional bonuses when you start a “group” which ostensibly means when you recruit new people into the company.

This is a big emphasis on just about every MLM out there, but while many companies make this component of the process a little bit sketchy, Pampered Chef manages to keep things pretty classy.

All in all, the compensation plan is yet another component of the company that checks all of the important boxes one would look for when considering an MLM.

Final Verdict: Legit

I am not a consultant of this company and have dabbled with many in my career but I must say that I actually really like this one.

Unlike the rest that focus on some oils like Doterra or some facial cream like Nerium, Pampered Chef has a bunch of products that will have you promoting for years.

The best thing about these products is the fact that we all use them on a daily basis!

To me, I think this is the best MLM opportunity for anyone, even if I am not a huge fan of recruiting.

So if you feel that you can sell these products and/or recruit others, this can very much be a side business that could possibly turn into something if you are passionate enough about it.

I give Pampered Chef two thumbs up and who knows, I might consider this as a future business venture of mine.

For You Non-Recruiters

Sure the idea of selling pots and pans is great but some of you might not be interested in talking to others about the opportunity and that is completely fine.

I personally do this thing called affiliate marketing myself and I’m sure that a lot of you will be interested in selling other people’s products without having to talk to anyone to make money.

You can learn more here and see the same exact business model that I personally use and have been using for the past four years.

Other than that, I think Pampered Chef is a great fit for any of you that feel you can make it happen.

At the end of the day, it’s really all about taking action and if you can do that, you, my friend will succeed.

Thanks for reading and good luck!
