Everyone and their mothers are still getting introduced to this “business” so I had to do an Ameriplan review of my own just to give my two cents.
Is Ameriplan a scam?
Is it legit?
Is it your ticket to financial freedom?
The questions can go on and on about this but ultimately the final decision will be up to you and no one else. As long as you know what you’re getting yourself into, there shouldn’t be any complaints.
Within this review I want to explain what it is exactly that you will be getting yourself into as well as my ultimate opinion on whether or not I think you should join.
I am not a member, so you won’t be getting a big promotion from me here, but rather an honest opinion of what most may consider another pyramid type scheme.
Ameriplan Review
Name: Ameriplan
Owners: Dennis & Daniel Bloom
Website: www.ameriplanusa.com
Price: $24.95/month – $150/month + $25 BC fee
Overall Rating: 2.1/5 stars
Product Overview
Based out of Plano Texas, Ameriplan is the product of brothers Dennis and Daniel Bloom. It was founded in 1992 and is currently active in the network marketing industry.
What is Ameriplan?
Multilevel marketing. It is what most people would consider your typical pyramid scheme style of business, which is something that comes with the territory.
It is a recruiting based business which falls in the lotions and potions category. They offer DISCOUNTS on medical and dental related products and they are not an insurance company.
Who This is For
This is actually great for anyone who requires a lot of medical services and prescriptions that your insurance providers don’t cover.
I would say this is also for those of you who don’t have insurance, but with a monthly fee, I think you’re better off getting an actual insurance provide, depending on your needs of course.
Ultimately, this is for those of you that are looking to do some type of network marketing business. You are the type that is comfortable with talking to people and are looking to do some networking of your own.
The Products
It comes with a bunch of different products, which range from dental care, all the way to discounts on computers and internet service.
Some I found to be decent, but others I find as a way to just have more products. I mean, dental care and internet? They just don’t go hand in hand.
I’m used to having one niche on one site, but I guess they want to be some type of jack of all trades type site. Hey, to each his own.
1.) Ameriplan Dental Plus – This is going to cost you $24.95 per month, but this covers your entire household and gives you immediate savings on
- Dental
- Vision
- Prescription
- Hearing
- Chiropractic services
2.) Ameriplan MED Plus – Same price as the dental plan and also covers your entire household. However, this one comes with different products
- Telemedicine
- Prescription savings
- Ancillary services
- Hospital advocacy
3.) Ameriplan Deluxe Plus – Cost is $39.95 per month and also covers your entire family.
- Combines Dental and MED
Remember now, this is just for the products. To become a Benefit Consultant [BC (not IBO)] you will need to pay the $24.95 annual fee.
This allows you to get your website as well as unlimited access to your BC back office for 12 months.
* This is not an insurance plan!
The Ameriplan Business and Compensation Plan
Now that you’ve seen the products, you might be interested in doing business with this company. Yup, there’s more to pay on top of your monthly product subscription.
There are sever price points with the Ameriplan business but you can get started for as low as $50 a month. Now the price also can go as high as $150 a month, which is the ultimate goal for you and other IBO’s.
- Platinum Plus – This is going to cost you $50, but it also gives you the chance to earn 20% commissions from the people that you bring into the company.
- Total Platinum – This is a $75 a month plan, that gives you the chance to make 30% off the people you personally bring into the company.
- Platinum Freedom Pass – This bad boy is going to cost you $150 per month and gives you the highest commission percentage of 40%.
Just like any other multilevel marketing business out there, Ameriplan has theirs. As you can see, it goes 5 levels down, which mens that you can earn money from people that other people refer.
This is also why they refer to these types of businesses as “pyramid schemes”. Now some are flat out scams, but these guys have been around for 20 years + for a reason.
There are Actually 2 Ways to Make Money With Ameriplan
Of course you can make some commissions by getting people to join you, but do know that you can also just sell the products by itself.
So if you think you can sell healthcare and dental packages, go for it. Or, you can always do both. Sell the packages and get people to join you to do the same thing you just did.
Is There Support With Ameriplan?
You can expect to get the help from the person that brought you here in the first place or you can head over to the FAQs that cover the most common questions people may have.
So yes, there is support, but not the best. When it comes to MLM, this is how it usually is so don’t expect to have access to the owners of the company.
Tools & Training
Upon joining, you get access to your back office where you can also get the link to your personal Ameriplan website.
As a member, you will learn to post an ad on sites like Craigs List to promote the business. From there, you will be able to contact them and give them more information on the program.
There are several training videos as well as phone scripts in your back office that will help you with this part of the business.
You can also jump on training calls every Tuesday at 8pm Eastern Standard time. Other than that, this is all you get as far as tools and training is concerned.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Can make you money
- Has actual products
- Commissions are fair
- Been around for a really long time
Cons:
- Recruiting driven
- Is based on your pyramid style business
- Outdated website
- Partners for discounts aren’t easy to find
- A lot of negative reviews
- Support is bleh
So is Ameriplan a Scam?
I’m going to have to say no. Some of you may disagree, but you can’t call something a scam that has actual products and has been around for more than two decades.
If this was a scam, then Amway and Melaleuca would be on the list too, right? Well that’s not really the case no matter what anyone tries to tell you.
Now whether or not I recommend this to you is a different story. There aren’t many opportunities for regular people to make money online and it’s sad to say that this is just one of the few.
If it wasn’t for programs like the Wealthy Affiliate, I probably would still be trying to push out the latest and greatest network marketing business opportunity.
Don’t get me wrong, I am still involved with companies like United Games, but that’s only because I don’t have to do any type of recruiting. Kinda.
I simply introduce the app to people (like I would any other app) and then they just play like they normally would. Now if they buy something it gives me the chance to make money rather than it just going straight to the owners. Not a bad deal huh?
Well this is just one of those things that I figured I at least need to try rather than just blow it off like one of the thousands of MLM “opportunities” out there.
What I Recommend
There are many (and I mean many) multilevel marketing gigs out there and I have tried a bunch of them. I used to think that MLM was the only way for me to get out of the rat race, until I found an actual way for me to create my own.
Yup, I created my own online business and I work from home full-time. I don’t recruit a single person and I don’t have to scare my friends and family away anymore.
Click here to see the same exact program that I use to make money from home. It is not the only way, but it is the best way in my opinion.
What I Really Think
Like I said many times in this article, there are only a few ways to make money from home and Ameriplan is one of them.
They have a solid reputation regardless of the many complaints they have. Every single MLM will have negativity and that’s just part of the game.
So if you think you’re the next best recruiter, this might be for you. If you think you can get people to join you in this next business venture, this might be for you.
In the end, you will need to make the final decision here. You know exactly what you are getting yourself into up to this point, so now you can get back to whoever introduced this to you and tell them what you think.
Thanks for reading my review and I hope you have all the information you need before pulling the trigger. Now you tell me…Is Ameriplan right for you?
Cheers!
– John
A Work at Home Jobs
It is currently active in the network marketing industry? Unfortunately for this business you included this line near the start of your article…so most people, with half a brain cell, will now turn away from it (thankfully). I’.m struggling to see why you even gave it a star rating – network marketing isn’t marketing, it hasn’t been marketing in the decade I’ve worked online and it never will be – thanks for alerting me to yet another MLM system though!
I usually try to give some companies the benefit of a doubt, and I usually give 1 star for the effort that was put into things. 1 is just as good as 0.
Looks and sounds interesting. After retiring I let my dental plan go. I couldn’t afford it any longer. Well I can’t afford to be without one.
Once you stop paying for it, you cannot get it back, so I found Cigna dental. The price is better than I was paying but it has a one year blackout, so all you get the 1st year are discounts.
Well thank God that my 1st year will be up November 1st 2016. Now Cigna will pay for the big stuff. It’s the big stuff that I need.
Anyway Ameriplan looks like it’s worth looking into.

Hey there, thanks for putting such a comprehensive review. I never heard of Ameriplan and as far as it looks – It is not my ticket to financial freedom. I think that they are borderline scam, and should be skipped over. MLM’s are never good, especially the ones with a very poor quality product. I was involved in a MLM company with a good product but poor marketing that eventually has fallen apart. Bottom line – Don’t join MLM companies, period.
All MLM Companies are not the same. Do you know an MLM company that invites their networking partners (you) to an annual convention to meet other people who have a home business with the company & meet the owners. Two people can stay at the same hotel but have two totally different experiences.
Speak on facts NOT opinions
Hi John, I enjoyed your review on Ameriplan and agree with your assessment in that it may have value if you had no insurance and high medical bills.
I loved the throw back to Amway and Melaleuca. My family was in Mel when I was kid and I miss the soap and shampoo! LOL
Also, I can’t seem to understand why everyone and their grandma doesn’t join United Games! The countdown is on to next weekend and I’m about to email my list to let them know.
Enjoyed your post, John 🙂
lol, thanks man! Yeah United Games is about to launch and I completely forgot about that. Is that all you’re into these days?
I have never quite understood, what is wrong with a pyramid scheme/mlm scheme?
That was a cracking review, i am so happy people make these reviews, it might just be the difference of an individual being bought into it and wasting money than staying away although this sounds legitimate. Wealthy affiliate for me has been the home of how i make money online, it has taught me so so much and i am gad your mentioning it in your post.
That’s great to hear Matthew and I’m glad you found something that works for you. MLM may not be for everyone and even if over 95% won’t make any money, it is almost impossible for them to admit that they are not going to make it. Wealthy Affiliate is definitely a great place and by far the best business model for anyone looking to get started with their own business and not someone els’s. Thanks for the comment man and I wish you the best!
Thank you for a great article. I personally were involved in MLM for a very long time, but I found that the recruiting was not that hard, but to get people to see the value and keep people motivated was just a nightmare for me. Today I also focus on Affiliate Marketing and I’m very happy with the results. Would you say that Wealthy Affiliate is a great Affiliate Program for Beginners? Do they offer step by step training that is easy to follow?
Thanks Jaco! MLM is MLM and there is nothing we could really do about that. As long as you know what you’re getting yourself into, you have no one to blame but yourself. Now if network marketing is your thing and you feel you can get people in and retain them, then go for it. More power to you.
Affiliate marketing is by far the best business model for anyone looking to get started in online marketing. Just like you, I was in MLM until I found out about affiliate marketing. I actually got my start at Wealthy Affiliate and up til this day I am still impressed at what that site has to offer. There is no competition man and they literally have everything you need to run and maintain a successful online business.
They also offer a free starter membership (no credit card required) that has a ton of value. By far the best way to make money online and I’m glad you have actually found them too.
Thanks for the comment Jaco and I hope things are going great on your end. Cheers!
John
Thanks for a detailed and good review of Ameriplan. I have tried Multi Level Marketing while back but it didn’t work out very well for me. It was not Ameriplan thou. I hated when people thought I was just stupid who started with pyramid schemes. In retrospect, I guess they were right.
There are many other ways of making money and your number one recommendation there at the bottom, is much better. I’ve been more successful with that.
Andreas
I’m glad you found something that actually works Andrea and of course it’s not some fancy MLM. Are you a member with Wealthy Affiliate? I would like to connect with you there.
