Affiliate marketing is truly an amazing business and one that I will always recommend to anyone who is serious about making money online legitimately.
What I see happening is way too many people getting started and then quitting for all the many reasons that are really unacceptable.
I do not care what excuse you have for failing in something that I see as impossible, you need to make sure you are headed in the right direction or you will never know the true potential that the internet and affiliate marketing has to offer.
For those of you who have built out a site and feel that you are on a treadmill or that you are simply getting no where, this post is for you.
Wondering if you’re in the right niche or if you’re wasting that valuable time of yours?
Allow me to give you all the information you need so that you can see if you are in the right niche or not and also to show you how to move forward from here regardless of what part of the business you are on.
Are You Really Interested in Your Niche?
This is the first thing you need to ask yourself.
Most people get distracted with all the information on the web and you can even say that they have already failed before they even started.
Why?
Well, because there are just too many gurus on the net trying to show you what works and all that type of shady tactics out there when they really have no interest in making you money.
“Go with something profitable”
“Use this system”
Blah blah blah!
I am sick and tired of seeing all the BS out there that misguide honest people just to make them money, leaving you thinking that everything online is a scam.
What is wrong with showing people the right way to do things and still be able to make money?
To make more money of course!
So if you decided to try to do things on your own and watch the millions of Youtube videos showing you all types of affiliate marketing training, you need to stop and get with the program.
Getting affiliate marketing training is something you need to invest in and it will only cost you less than $50/month if you go with something like the Wealthy Affiliate.
If you can’t invest such a small amount into a business, you might want to really think about what you want to make because you are not going to make thousands of dollars trying to do it on your own.
In most cases, you will be spending more money because most likely you will get reeled into some scheme that you didn’t see coming.
I guess I can talk about that too, since it will have a great impact on whether or not your niche is a success or another fail.
Don’t Lose Focus
Almost every failed affiliate marketer has fallen into the trap of other gurus and it really pisses me off.
These gurus target the affiliate marketing world by talking negatively about the industry or trying to relate to you and then of course try to get you to join their so called “opportunity”.
If you can focus on affiliate marketing and only affiliate marketing, there is no reason why you can’t make thousands of dollars like everyone else is making online.
I don’t care if it’s been 3 months and you have not seen any money, you need to continue your journey.
Most people stop right when they are about to make money and it really sucks.
If you’re in the baby diaper niche, stick with it and don’t let anyone take you off track.
Advertising and Google can be your best friend but they can also be your worst enemy so you need to be very careful with what you see and click on.
Google knows that you are looking to make money online so don’t let them win and continue to build out your affiliate website.
What Does Your Competition Look Like?
This can be confusing, especially if you are a complete newb.
When doing research on your niche, don’t let the SERPS (search engine results page) deter you from targeting highly targeted keywords.
Just because you see a bunch of popular site at the top of the search engines should not let you feel that you can’t compete.
If you narrowed your niche down to something a little more targeted, you should be able to move up the rankings over time.
The more you post on a consistent basis and continue to write content around that targeted niche, you will soon become the authority in that niche.
Fall off the wagon due to lack of earnings and you will roll back down the hill just like everyone else.
Remain consistent and build out your site no matter what.
With some time, determination, and patience, you will soon start to get better rankings and your overall site will bring in the traffic you never thought possible.
Get discouraged and stop blogging and every other consistent site will outrank you.
This is key to affiliate marketing success, so don’t do the opposite and you should be good to go.
Are You too Broad?
Most bloggers think they have narrowed down their niche but have a site on fitness.
When starting out, you think that you can cover many topics under the sun but that is nothing but a recipe for disaster.
Pick something very specific and build it out as you can always expand at a later date.
Do what all fast food restaurants are doing.
They started out with a very specific dish and then now have expanded into some crazy all in one money making machine.
Taco Bell did tacos and Mexican food and now serve coffee and breakfast.
McDonald’s went from cheeseburgers to coffees, smoothies, and even salads!
Pretend you are these companies at their early stages and think about adding other things at a later time, usually when you are making a good income.
This is one business where you do not want to be the jack of all trades, so be the subject matter expert in something very specific and not everything and anything.
Are You Chasing Money?
This is where most people fail miserably but can very much be prevented.
Again, you will encounter many gurus that try to tell you that you need to get in a niche that makes a lot of money but please don’t let them win.
ALWAYS go with something you are interested in whether you think it is profitable or not.
Blog with a passion or don’t blog at all is what I think and it is what will get you to making thousands of dollars online.
Blog chasing the money and you will most likely become another affiliate marketing fail that thinks that this is just not for them.
Conclusion
Affiliate marketing works and there are no ands ifs or buts about it.
Follow your passion, forget about the money, and you will find success.
Do the complete opposite and you will become another statistic.
I am a full-time affiliate marketer and I make my living completely online.
I work on my own terms and I answer to no one.
I spend most of my time with my kids as I still have to work, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
So if you’re wondering if affiliate marketing works or if you can do it, the answer is yes.
As long as you have the right training, support and even some one on one coaching there is no reason that you can’t become a successful online marketer.
Don’t forget to try the Wealthy Affiliate as they have the best training on the net with a very affordable price and even a free membership that also gives you two free websites.
You can’t do this on your own, so please do get with the program.
Thanks for reading and please do let me know if you have any questions about affiliate marketing or any other make money from home opportunity.
Until next time, get out there and make it happen.
Cheers!
I started out with LDI a couple of weeks ago, so I can tell you of my experience with them, as far as I got.
You get an account to sign in after paying $49 and start a 16 step training routine and a trainer to check in with daily. You read each step, then sign off at the bottom and go on to the next step.
At step 6a you are asked to become a premium member which will cost you $149 a month for as long as you are a member of LDI. This money is used to pay people who do very specific tasks in developing your or some one’s product such as keeping track of sales leads or finances, so you don’t have to do all the many tasks yourself.
Then in step 6b you are asked to sign up for the next 3 day conference somewhere in the States like FL, NV . This will cost you 2900 dollars immediately, or 2400 if you sign up within 5 days. Presumably there you will get a lot of new important information on how to do the business
This is where I got hung up, since I am on Social Security and get just barely enough to make my current expenses plus a yearly tax of $3500 of real estate taxes. So i am stuck in the business. They will either refund my $49 or make me a loan for the confererence, to be repaid at $244 a month,or some other loan.
Now wnether I can really make the 6 or 7 figure income they are talking about is unknown to me. I suppose if I can come up with enough leads this will xepend on hkw much time I spen
on the business.
I hope that clears up some of the questions you may have about LDI. I am not condemning any of their practices. In fact their business practicess make lots of sense and the founders certainly are very successful in it.
Sounds like you are going down the funnel exactly how they want you to and they want you to make you feel that everything makes sense. You are stuck in their cycler and if you don’t do anything about it, you will be spending more money without a guarantee to make that back. All you are going to learn is how to get others to go down the same path you just did, so as long as you’re cool with that then that’s fine too.
