There are MILLIONS of YouTube videos getting viewed every single day, which is all the more reason to jump on the wagon and make some dough in the process.
I know a lot of “YouTubers” that are making a full-time income online just from using YouTube alone, but at the same time, there are millions of people trying to make it big as well.
These big YouTubers are a huge inspiration, especially on the younger generation and they might have just influenced you.
You see it everywhere, kids trying to get people to subscribe to their channel because their “favorite YouTuber” inspired them to create their own.
If you’re interested in making a living online, then I highly suggest you keep reading, because I’ll be explaining exactly how to make money online with YouTube, allowing you to speed pass the competition and eventually rake in the money as a result of your hard work.
Choose A Niche
First and foremost, you need a niche.
Basically, a niche is something that has an audience, an audience who loves to learn more about that specific topic.
Basketball is a niche, basketball for beginners is a sub-niche, basketball for newbies aged 20-30 is a micro-niche.
Your niche is entirely up to you.
With a YouTube channel, you want to use a sub-niche. Not a broad niche and not a micro-niche. You’ll capture your audience a lot easier, and they’ll keep coming back for more!
Your Passion
There’s a lot of debate whether this works or not, but it hands down DOES work.
If you want to be in it for the long haul, you need to create a niche that’s based around something you love, your hobby, your passion.
Skip this step, and you’ll give up before you even started. Period.
Think about it like this.
If you’re a basketball player, would you rather teach tutorials about that or would you teach about netball instead?
Exactly, you get the point.
Now if you want a micro-niche from that, basketball shoes for men would be perfect.
What You Can Make Videos About?
People love tutorials, how-to videos, top 10, etc. There are a myriad of different video styles you can make. Mix it up for best results 🙂
And the beauty of YouTube is that a lot of people would love to watch you shoot hoops for a couple of minutes. As long as you make it entertaining, of course.
If you like basketball, create a “how-to” basketball channel.
Are you good at using makeup?
Then create tutorials on that.
You might even consider creating your very own vlog.
The world is your oyster, but definitely don’t overlook this step, or you’ll end up choosing something that you’ll lose interest in.
Remember, it is your business, which means you’ll be making content for YEARS to come!
Decide On Your Content
You need to see what your audience loves or there’s no point in creating a 10 minute-long video if they’re only going to stick around for 3-4 minutes.
Sometimes short videos works best, but there are instances that longer videos work well, too.
Get to know your audience, see what they enjoy watching, and give them what they want!
It’s that simple.
You can do this by looking at other YouTube channels in the same niche. How long is their content and are they getting a lot of engagement?
Now I’m not saying copy exactly what you see.
Because if you do that, you’ll be seen as a “copy cat”, and you won’t get any respect from anyone in the industry, meaning no subscribers, no views, and no money.
Be original, be unique, and you will do well.
A Few Tips On Content
- Be consistent, you can’t create a business if you choose to do a video every month
- Do 2 videos a week at the very least. I can’t stress enough how important it is to be consistent. When you upload regularly, you’re able to hold an audience, and you keep them coming back for more
- Don’t fret too much about the quality of your videos at the very start. You will get better over time. Get something created and get it posted. That’s the main thing
- Try to improve the quality of your videos by using a tripod, light up your scenes, or get a better camera – nobody likes watching a video that looks like it was recorded using a “potato”
- Always tag your videos with keywords related to your video. Basically, if it describes your video, you can use it
- An eye-catching description will increase your click-through rate. As you increase your “brand” and get noticed, you’ll start showing up in the searches. That’s when your title, description and thumbnail matters the most. Don’t overlook the power of these 3 things
Getting Subscribers
Now there’s no BIG secret to getting subscribers. But there is one thing I’d like to mention.
Uploading content on a regular basis and getting your viewers hooked is key.
The more your viewers enjoy your video, the higher the chances for them to notice you in their feed and want to watch your newer content.
Try to promote your videos as much as possible as well. Share it on all social media platforms to give you the most exposure.
Eventually, you’ll gain traction and your subscribers will keep increasing.
Engage with them, reply to comments, make Q&A videos dedicated to answering your subscribers questions.
Your audience are the ones who will get you to the top, never lose sight of that!
Treat them good and you will win in the end.
Big YouTube Channels All Have One Thing In Common
Big YouTubers pushed through the years of hard work until they got where they are today.
They didn’t quit after the first few weeks because they lost motivation, they didn’t quit because they didn’t see results, and they sure as hell didn’t try and cheat the system by getting fake subscribers and likes.
So you shouldn’t do any of that either!
They kept making videos because that’s what they love doing, and that’s why creating videos about your passion is one of the biggest secrets there is.
Do that and you will see great success my good friend 🙂
What Do I Recommend?
Now making money on YouTube is nice and all, but the competition is HUGE.
Making a full-time income with a YouTube channel can take literally years. Now I don’t know about you, but there’s no way I would work that hard if I knew there was something that would get me there much quicker.
And there is. It’s called blogging!

I use a program called Wealthy Affiliate andI was able to make my first sale in 3 months, and a full-time income in just 1 year.
Not 2 years, and not 3 years, because that’s how long you’ll be waiting for if you created a new YouTube channel.

What you do with it is up to you.
I’m not forcing you to do anything here.
