We all started our work from home businesses with many reasons behind it.
Whether it be to make more money, have the freedom to do whatever you want, or to simply spend more time with your family, we all have a why.
This whole “what is your why” is very common in the network marketing world and is really nothing more than a marketing strategy that promotes hype and that feeling of “I need to do something”.
As an affiliate marketer, I look at that sort of in a different way as I already have my “whys” in place and I’m not working towards accomplishing it.
I’m not saying this to brag and tell you that MLM will never beat affiliate marketing but rather to give you some type of wake up call and/or somewhat of a reminder.
Within the past couple of weeks I have learned a whole lot about my business, my family, and most especially about myself.
A lot of self evaluation, business tweaks, and everything in between has allowed me to forget something very important in this amazing business we do.
I forgot my why.
With all the moving and sick kids, I haven’t found much time to myself and now I finally have the time to sit back and reevaluate everything that has happened in the 3 short years of my online career.
So What is Your Why?
We all probably have at least 5 reasons as to why we want to succeed in the online world and most people will never get there.
By most, I mean 99%.
That many people will never accomplish any goals they set out to begin with and that many people will continue to work that 9-5 that offers nothing but a headache and a small paycheck.
If you can’t understand your why, you, my friend will not get very far.
Don’t just write down what you want to accomplish but get out there and make it happen, no matter what.
I can tell you that it isn’t going to happen by tomorrow but if you take the necessary steps NEEDED to succeed within the online space, I can promise you that you will do anything you really wanted to.
Take Baby Steps
To accomplish anything in life, you need to have goals and you need to keep pushing forward no matter what obstacles you may have in your way.
Too often you see someone set some goals and try their hardest to whack them out right away, just to quit thinking that something “doesn’t work”.
In the online world and definitely the real world, things don’t work that way so don’t beat yourself up thinking you have failed at something when you probably never gave it enough time.
Just like any get rich quick scheme out there, you will not find success overnight.
To accomplish goals like spending more time with your family, working less hours a day, or making more money, requires some time, some patience, and a lot of understanding.
Understand that it takes time to get to where you want to be, and understand that it won’t happen overnight.
Understand at least that much and you will accomplish more than you think.
Never Give Up
You are in charge of your own life whether you would like to believer that or not.
If you give up on your dreams then you were never destined to succeed in the first place.
I’m not a fan of people that think the world revolves around then but I do believe that you dictate whether or not you will be successful within the online space and you need to let your life revolve around it.
Some of you might just have that negative person breathing down your neck, telling you that you can’t make it and some of you might just be telling yourself that and that is probably why you won’t find success in the first place.
I don’t care what happens, DO NOT let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do especially if they are not living their why.
Never give up but also remember what your whys are.
Do Not Forget Your Why
The biggest lesson I’ve learned in the past two weeks is to never forget why you started your journey in the first place.
Sure I wanted to make more money than every single job I’ve ever held in my life but after having my first child, I knew I wanted to spend the most time I could with him.
Now, having 4 little humans to lookout for, life can take control and you will forget why you do what you do.
The biggest lesson from this post is not about giving up on your dreams or how to be successful because if you want it bad enough, you will get there.
The biggest lesson here is to never forget your why.
Never forget what you wanted and never forget the people that were included in that why.
I’m one workaholic but I tend to forget that my family was my biggest motivator.
Having accomplished every why I set out to do, the biggest one tends to be the one I forget the most.
More time with my family.
So when I feel that work needs to be done (because it has to be done), I will still be that zombie my son wants me to be, just so he can shoot me.
None of this, “daddy’s gotta work” nonsense.
If my daughter wants me off my computer, then that’s what I’m going to do.
And if the boys want to swim, then I guess once a week won’t hurt, right?
It’s time to stop using “no” a lot less and time to start finding ways to spend more time with my family as I have forgotten a lot of things that I would’ve probably never caught until it’s too late.
Life and work is always going to happen but if you’re like me and you have a why of spending more time with your family, don’t forget that.
When you start bringing in the income that allows you to spend more time with them, use a lot of your time doing exactly that.
Set a schedule, stick with it, and find that time to spend more time with your family.
If it takes waking up an hour earlier than everyone else to get work done, so be it.
I hope this has inspired and reminded you about everything that this wonderful business has to offer.
Take the time to embrace what you have accomplished and spend that time with your family that I know they need.
If you are still struggling to make it online, feel free to join me here and I will personally help you get to where you want to be.
Life is too short, so enjoy every single bit of it and never take anything for granted.
