Want to know a little Seacret?
This is an MLM!
Not that it’s a scam or anything but I would like to give you more information through this review so that you know exactly what it is that you are getting yourself into before you start paying for something you might not even like.
I am not an affiliate with Seacret and I don’t endorse them either so you can expect nothing but a solid opinion from someone who isn’t trying to recruit you.
So before you tell the person who is trying to make money from you that you are going to join, allow me to provide you with the necessary information to make a smart decision.
What is Seacret?
Seacret began its entry into the world of MLM at a small kiosk in the mall in the year of 2003 (back when a few people still went to the mall).
They were, and continue to be, in the business of skincare. In fact, if you have ever walked through the kiosk section of a mall, you may have even interacted with them before.
Seacret kiosk clerks had the reputation for people almost as aggressive with their sales as an MLM affiliate.
Their products (which we will discuss more in detail a little bit later) may very well have lead the way for the dead sea salt craze that continues to enjoy traction in the world of cosmetics.
The company was founded by Israeli immigrant brothers Izhak Ben Shabat and Mordechai Ben Shabat, who actually came to the US to become doctors, but were instead swept up by the promises of the American dream.
They explored their entrepreneurial spirits quite thoroughly, participating in a variety of businesses at which they enjoyed mixed success before finally hitting the jackpot with Seacret.
They now run a billion dollar company that also happens to be one of the most prominent MLMs in the existence.
Presently, the company has over 12000 affiliates, and generates about $100 million in revenue each year.
For the potential future affiliate, every bit of this is good news. While there are never any guarantees in the world of MLM, it is at least nice to see that Seacret is checking all of the right boxes in terms of the company’s history.
The leadership is experienced, the products seem to be selling quite well, and the company itself has been around long enough that there is no need to worry that it might be a scam.
This all sounds pretty good, right? Or at least it sounds good enough to want to learn what it takes to join up?
How to Get Started at Seacret
Getting started at Seacret is as simple as paying their starting fees. Since this is an MLM, there is no need to worry about an interview, or even about applying.
The basic starter pack will set you back $49, which isn’t terrible all things considered. While this may be burdensome to people on a restrictive budget, it does fall pretty well into the average of what most legitimate MLMs are charging people to join.
The average MLM seems to have a starting fee of between $30-100, a median that Seacret falls comfortably into the middle of.
With a starting rate in this range, it should not be too much of a financial burden to people who are new to MLM but want to dip their toes in the waters.
It also keeps your overhead very low which means it will be relatively easy to make your money back even if it turns out that you aren’t much of a salesperson after all.
In other words, like the company history, the starting process is another department in which Seacret is looking pretty good.
Of course, this doesn’t matter all that much of you aren’t into what the company is selling, right?
Let’s now take a look at the Seacret product line to see if it will be right for you.
What You Will Be Selling
As we mentioned a little bit ago, skin care is the name of the game here. The product line consists of a range of items that are all infused with salt from the dead sea.
This marketing premise seems to mostly just be a gimmick, but the idea that they are selling here is that this sea salt has properties that will de-age the skin and promote a general air of cosmetic health and wellness.
Is it true? This is, of course, difficult to say. While there does not seem to be any science out there indicating that dead sea salt is what we all need to be using if we want to fight aging, people do seem to like the products, and appreciate the results that they see from them.
Their product line is really too immense to list here, but the general gist of what they are selling pertains to relaxation, de-aging, and skin rejuvenation. One of their products is titled Re-Cover, and despite the fact that it is only available in Canada, the company claims that it features a waiting list of at least two weeks.
The promise of this product is that it will literally unfold the wrinkles in your skin. Whether or not this claim is true, it does make sense that it attracts a crowd of interested customers.
The good news about these products is that they require regular use. This means that your customers will be coming back to you regularly if they like the way that it is working, which should help you to generate consistent commissions.
The treatment products are also pretty pricey (some of them approach $400) which means that if you are able to move the big ticket items, you will be rewarded with some hefty commissions.
When it comes to selling products for an MLM, success is certainly never a given, but for what it is worth, your prospects do look pretty good here.
The Compensation Plan
As is true with any MLM, compensation at Seacret is a little bit complicated. For one thing, this is a commission only company, which means that for affiliates if you aren’t making sales, you arne’t making money.
Fair enough though, right?
Commission is around thirty percent per sale (we say around because there are performance based bonuses) which is not great, but also certainly is not terrible.
The possibility of making money at Seacret is certainly there, though it is wroth noting that the majority of MLM sales affiliates across the board are not making a ton of money. Does this mean that there is no income to be made in this business?
Certainly not. It simply means that if you are going to go down this road, you need to make sure you do so with the right skills: self motivation, and the ability to work with others.
Conclusion
At the end of the day this overall operation is about the compensation plan and making money.
With the thousands of skin care products on the market, what makes you think this will be any better than what is already doing what these products can do?
Just like when I was with Melaleuca and tried to make their laundry detergent be “the one” but after almost a year of using that product, I had to go back to some regular old Gain and Downy as I needed that fresh smell.
With Seacret, the science behind what their products can actually do is not proven and that goes with every other MLM in this niche.
So if you’re thinking you have some kind of crazy products to offer to your friends and family, you might want to think twice before you lose more of them.
What I Really Think
If you are simply looking to make more money then I definitely do not recommend an MLM.
Thanks to this thing called affiliate marketing, there is actually a way to get out of the rat race without hounding your family and friends to tell them about your latest and greatest business venture.
I too, used to think that network marketing was the only way for me to kick my 9-5 to the curb but I was actually wrong.
So after some failed opportunities/learning experiences within the industry, I am proud to say that I have been working from home for the past four years and I don’t recruit a single person.

Other than that, Seacret is no real secret but rather another recruiting based program with mediocre products.
I’m sure its members will say otherwise as they are in the business to recruit and telling people that will not help them a single bit.
