Is Skinny Body Care a Scam or a Legit Opportunity?

Welcome to my Skinny Body Care review! If you are wondering if this is a scam or something you should consider joining, you have come to the right place.

I am not here to sell you Skinny Fiber, but I do want to give you my two cents of yet another controversial network marketing business.

I am not the biggest multilevel marketing fan and I am not completely against it, but I am a businessman and I love dealing with anything business related.

After being introduced to this “opportunity” by a bunch of people and seeing the big Skinny Fiber magnets on the side of cars, I figured it was time to do some research.

After talking to some of its IBO’s (individual business owners) and contemplating on whether or not I should give this a try, I have put together this review for people like you and me that are curious about this business.

What is Skinny Body Care?

A multilevel marketing business which uses weightloss and some make you look younger cream. The company was created by Ben Glinsky who has others who help him behind the scenes.

The company is about 5 years old now and has been slowly building steam in the network marketing industry.

Who This is For

Anyone interested in network marketing. Obviously this would be ideal for anyone looking to lose weight or look younger, but that should be the last thing that makes you decide on whether or not you should join.

This is really for anyone that is into multilevel marketing and is actually comfortable with talking to people about their latest and greatest work from home opportunity.

Skinny Body Care Products

I remember when I used to see Skinny Fiber reps all over the place. At the time, I think that was the only product that they had to offer.

These days, they have added more to their arsenal, which I think was almost a must if they want to keep going.

One product was the deal breaker for me before, but with the additional stuff, I actually gave it some thought about joining.

The main product of course is the Skinny Fiber. This used to be all they carried and it actually kept things going.

Skinny Fiber

This product uses the fiber glucomannan, which is (defined on Wikipedia) as “a food addictive used as an emulsifier and thickener.”

How it works – it is believed to expand in your stomach to make you feel full. It may help suppress your appetite so that you don’t overeat, which of course is the biggest problem most of us face.

According to their site, it has also been shown to have other health benefits such as helping support cholesterol levels.

If you hear the name Skinny Body Care, the first thing that comes to mind would be this product. I have yet to try this one, so if any of you have experience with this, please share it in the comments section below.

Ageless

This was also the alternative I was looking at before I joined. At the time, I saw no need for any weight management product.

Although I have aged a bit, I think once I get back to a regular routine I will look younger again. For those of you that find that challenging, this might be the product for you.

This product is supposed to help you look up to 10 years younger, but I do think everyone is different. If it’s not in your genes, then I’m sure this will help you out.

From the ingredients of this product, I couldn’t help but think of a bunch of other MLM companies. The first one being Nerium (look younger cream), which uses anti-aging as its only product.

Then they use the noni fruit, which reminds me of that noni juice, but I’m not even sure if that business still exists.

The one that really caught my attention is the Blueberry. This is the key ingredient to an MLM called Kyani, which is one that is causing a lot of hype right now.

HiBurn8

This would be the start of their new product lineup. This is supposed to help those of you that have problems sleeping and I’ve heard that it actually helps.

If you are one of those with a high metabolism, this might not be a good product for you as I’ve heard that it will also help you lose weight.

This is a collagen based product, which focuses primarily on getting you a good night’s sleep.

Skinny Body Max

This is supposedly an enhanced version of their core product. With this product being available, I really don’t see a need for the original Skinny Fiber product.

This gives you maximum weight management as well as antioxidant support, which seems to be the only additional ingredients to the regular product.

Instant Youth

Again, this seems like a little upgrade to their existing product, Ageless. This time they target things like forehead lines and other things that come with aging.

For what it’s worth, this is one of their new products, which you can also use to market your business.

So in a nutshell, you have weight management and anti-aging products. So if this is something that may interest you, then here it is.

How Much Does Skinny Body Care Cost?

This is one of the most affordable multilevel marketing businesses I have ever come across. There may not be much to choose from, but there definitely is a huge market for them.

To get started, it is going to cost you a minimum of $69.95 + S&H. It is $59.95 for the product and then $10 for the activation fee.

You are then signed up for the monthly payment of $59.95, unless you decide to get more products.

This would be their lowest membership level, which gets you ONE bottle of any of the products mentioned above.

This also gets you the tools, training calls, and marketing systems to market your Skinny Body Care business.

Then you have the other options, which of course will cost more and get you more products. They also give you the chance to move up their ranking system and give you the opportunity to get more commissions.

• Business Builder Start Pack – $59.95 for one bottle of any of the products
• Business Builder Bonus Pack – $119.85 which gets you 3 bottles of any combination
• Business Builder Premier Pack – $179.70 which gets you 6 bottles of any combination
• Thee Month Qualifying Pack -$179.85 for 3 bottles of Skinny Fiber or Ageless. This also allows you to stay active and fully qualified to earn commissions with 50 BV in personal volume for your first 3 months.
• Six Month Qualifying Pack – $359.70 for 6 bottles of Skinny Fiber or Ageless. This also allows you to stay active and fully qualified to earn commissions with 50 BV in personal volume for your first 6 months.

These memberships all require the $10 activation fee and they also give you the option to get the Skinny Body capsules in Veggie or Gelatin.

Skinny Body Care Comp Plan

When I was heavily involved in MLM (Before I started my own online business) I would always find a lot of interest in the compensation plan for a company.

If it wasn’t going to give me the most out of the many levels that come with “multilevel” marketing, then I wouldn’t join.

With Skinny Body Care, I think they have a decent comp plan in place. Just like the rest, it is somewhat complicated and hard to understand for most people.

Let me simplify at least the first part of this comp plan because most “independent distributors” fail to inform their downlines.

When you get someone to directly signup under you, you will get 40% off of their first order. You will then get 10% of the people placed on your first level.

Things then get complicated after this and it is best if you go to their compensation plan page to get a better understanding of what you can make in regards to commissions.

Now the residual income is something you should know most about, as this is the same reason most people do multilevel marketing in the first place.

If you see in the chart below you will see exactly how much you will make AFTER your first payment was received from the people under you.

In case you didn’t know this, this is also what makes this a nice little “multilevel” marketing business as well as what have some people calling this a pyramid scheme.

Pros &  Cons of Skinny Body Care

• Great marketing system
• Very affordable
• Site is user friendly
• Can make you money without referring a single person

Cons:

• Not many products
• Is MLM
• Requires recruiting

The marketing system is a key component to this business and one of the biggest pros here. With the chance to get someone under you without doing any work will get a lot of people to come in. At least that’s my opinion.

Skinny Body Care Complaints

There is no perfect multilevel marketing business out there and every single one of them will come with some unhappy campers.

However, there are some “complaints” that need more attention than others, especially when it comes to money and their products.

Some people claim that…

“the pills don’t work”

“It’s all mind over matter”

“You can find these pills at any vitamin store”

These were what I’ve come up with in regards to the product, but there was also a member and his team that claim they were promised the world.

They were told that they didn’t need to recruit a single person and they would make at least $1618.50 per month and no less than $10,000 after a year.

If you go to Complaintsboard.com, you will see where all of this is coming from. As far as this being true, I really am in no position to say anything.

Is Skinny Body Care a Scam?

After 5 years have gone by and they are still around, I would like to say no. To some people, every single one of these multilevel marketing businesses are scams and nothing but a pyramid scheme.

Yes, they do operate in a pyramid style business, but I’m sure by now everyone knows that you have to get people to join under you (creating a pyramid) in order to make money.

So as long as you know what your’e getting yourself into then there shouldn’t be any complaints about what is going on with this business.

MLM is cool and all, but we all know this is not for everyone. With the fact that you NEED to recruit to make money is enough to turn a lot of people away.

Now with an actual product and the chance to make some money, I think they have more to offer than most of the garbage I’ve come across in my life.

I mean, Amway has been around for a very long time, but they do have a huge list of products to choose from. Will that make the difference here?

What I Really Think

Personally, I think it’s all a matter of what you want to do. I know you want to make money, but that should not be your main reason for joining Skinny Body Care or any other MLM for that matter.

If you are looking for a legitimate way to make money from home without having to deal with the whole recruiting gig, you definitely need to do some affiliate marketing (Click here to see what I recommend) which is truly an amazing business model that anyone can do.

There aren’t many ways to be your own boss and work from home, but I know this is by far the best opportunity for anyone on a budget and is also the same business that got me out of the 9-5 world.

If you can see yourself selling Skinny Fiber, then I actually do recommend this one too. I don’t think anyone will take your money, so don’t believe everything you see or hear on the net.
