With all the reviews on Herbalife, I thought I’d add my two cents.
Like AdvoCare, Herbalife is another organization that specializes in nutrition, weight-management, regaining your energy, and overall taking good care of yourself.
At least that’s their main motto to advertise its products.
Herbalife states that they use high-quality ingredients and can ship to over 90 countries (great way to make more money and product availability to everyone). Again, like AdvoCare, to purchase products with Herbalife, you must be a distributor or know one.
Even before shopping at their products for research of this review, I had to sign-up for an account. The website will randomly set you up with a distributor in the even you don’t know one (for this test, I used a random fake e-mail address and a random password).

Cost Efficiency
Herbalife offers a bit more of a variety in their products in comparison to AdvoCare. Most of their products are alike in many ways, the variety is one way these companies are set apart from each other.
Some of the costs with Herbalife will be higher based on the number of products that are available to its distributors and consumers. Noted below, like my other blog for AdvoCare, you can view the breakdown of the cost (I won’t be naming all, but you’ll see the price comparison since some are just flavor changes).
One of the downfalls with Herbalife’s website compared to AdvoCare is the pricing, you must register an account before you can view their pricing.
It’s a great marketing scheme to flood your inbox, but easy enough to unsubscribe.
Below is a small breakdown of what Herbalife’s cost levels being are, but some are unavailable due to the distributor versus consumer factors that I do not have the ability to view now.
Purchasing Products
To purchase products, you must either become a distributor or know a distributor to purchase anything.
Even if you do not know one or aren’t a distributor, you can easily find one on their website based on city, state, or zip code.
The MLM pyramid applies to Herbalife just like it does to AdvoCare, but is one better than the other?
After completing some inclusive research, I have found that Herbalife is not as legit as I thought, even if I figured this was actually comparable to Amway.
MLM Pyramid – Is it Legal?
Herbalife is one of the top organizations that have consistently been dealing with backlash not only from consumers buying its products, but now from a class action lawsuit.
Herbalife’s operations had to change based on the “Ponzi” scheme of its pyramid from the FTC.
Most of distributors earn their money by recruiting (like AdvoCare), but with Herbalife not many individuals are making much money, if anything at all.
Most of the gimmicks that Herbalife tells its potential distributors that you can quit your job, make a 6-figure income selling their products, and more.
The reality?
Most make a few bucks, if some are lucky to wine and dine other friends, family, co-workers, etc. this is where those distributors make their money.
If I can persuade 10 people to buy into the program, those 10 people need to get at 5-10 people as well, and those 5-10 people must do the same.
Selling products is only a quarter of what Herbalife does, the other 75%?
It’s gaining distributors, the more distributors that are under your belt selling, the more money you make.
Is it Worth the Money?
Some will swear by Herbalife, from time-to-time I still am seeing individuals trying to sell Herbalife, AdvoCare, and whatever else is new and up-coming with the same business model.
If you do enough research, you will know whether it’s for you.
Personally, none of this will ever work on me, but that’s just me.
If you want something bad enough, it CAN work.
With some of the ingredients in Herbalife, I’m surprised to see how well some people can control their weight management, lose weight, gain that energy, etc.
Let’s review some of the complaints and “ingredients” that Herbalife thinks so highly of themselves on.
Complaint: “When I started on the Herbalife products, the first thing I noticed was headaches and itching. I was breaking out in hives so bad I couldn’t sleep at night. Then my hair started to fall out! I called my coach and she told me there was nothing she can do about it. Then the phone call ended from her, but when I was spending money with her, she would call me twice a week. I had to get my hair cut like a boy, which was extremely depressing.” – L. W. of Rockingham, NC – 4/17/2017
Complaint: “Very unhealthy product(s), my husband, daughter, and I were using Herbalife. It was okay for the first 2 weeks until I started having severe stomach pains. I spoke to my coach, which in return she said take something else that was a Herbalife product. My hair started falling out and I let my doctor know immediately, I was told to stop using Herbalife and since then I do not have any stomach pains and my hair isn’t falling out as much, avoid at all cost!” – Kim of New Franklin, OH – 4/7/2017
Positive: “I have been on Herbalife for about a month and I feel great! I had my thyroid removed a couple years back and haven’t had any energy at all and always in a bad mood. Since I started Herbalife I have more energy and I’m losing weight healthy and I have so much energy and no longer moody. In my opinion, the individuals who are having issues should contact their coaches so they can go over different plans to help you.” – Sammie of Lake Worth, FL – 2/28/2017
Positive: “I did a 3-day trial and loved it enough to take the plunge. I’ve been doing the plan for 5 days now and have already seen results. My energy level has improved greatly and I feel great! I think the two tricks to this is to drink LOTS of water and eat snacks and the one main meal that is high in protein. By doing this, I realized that the way I was eating before was not a lot of food, but things that were high in fat, sugar, and calories. Now I feel I eat a lot of food even though it is high in protein and fiber.”
Conclusion
Everyone will react differently as not everyone’s bodies are made the same.
Period.
Reading both the positive and negative reviews can sway individuals to try Herbalife while others will steer clear, simply because most people are not into the whole recruiting thing.
My best advice is to research extensively before trying a product like this and if you want to sell their products to try and make money, be wary that not many have been successful enough to make 6-figures and quit their jobs.
Other than that, thanks for reading my Herbalife review.
I hope that I have given you more than enough information on yet another MLM program and I do hope that you can make a wiser decision.
Thanks for reading!
