So I am now on my one year anniversary of working from home full-time. It took me 3 months for my blog to make any money, but since then, I have come a long way.
Today I want to show you how to start blog from scratch and started making money 3 months into it. To most, that’s a long time. To me, that was sooner than I expected.
My Flop Into Success
I first found a company called the Wealthy Affiliate back in 2010, but I never paid attention to what they really had to offer. Rather than going over the training and applying what they were teaching, I was too busy falling for the next best scam.
I literally spent thousands of dollars online, trying to make money with these scams that wanted me to do nothing but promote their product so that they can make more money. Bad idea.
After a couple of years of jumping around, still trying to make money online, I finally gave up trying to get rich quick. That’s when I went back to WA, and decided to see what I could do with a business that costs nothing, really.
I can only imagine where I would be now, if I took action back in 2010. Although I’m kicking myself on the behind, I still make more money now than any other job I’ve ever held.
Training is One Thing, One on One Coaching is Another
So I finally got started with the training and boy was I impressed. Were these guys really going to show me how to build a business online, without having me promote them just to make money? You’ll be amazed too.
Just seeing how money was made online (the right way) I knew this was going to be my way out of not only my 9-5, but also my way out of the military.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve learned a lot from the many jobs and schools I’ve attended, but I just knew there had to be a way that I could make a lot of money, without doing what everyone else is doing. That’s when I turned to the internet.
My First Scam
Alright, I don’t have some type of rags to riches story, but I did fall for a lot of scams. Although I’ve given into so many scams, I did learn some very valuable lessons.
I ran into this program called Success With Anthony and I immediately purchased his $20 product. I discovered this scammer through an infomercial and boy did he get me.
Have you ever had someone call you and ask you how much money you have in your bank account? I was at work so I had to step out of the office because I felt like I was committing a crime!
Honestly, I almost spent the $5,000 that they were asking for, but luckily I only had like $4,500 at the time. Boy have I learned a lot within the past 3 years.
You Will Not Get Rich Overnight. Period.
I have learned a lot of things in the short amount of time that I’ve been doing online marketing. The biggest lesson I’ve learned (the hard way) is that there is no push button secret to making money online.
If you want to make money online, you will need to put in the work to make it happen. If you know any online millionaires, they will tell you that there is no secret to making lots of money online.
The only ones that will tell you that, are scammers. They will tell you anything you want to hear, just so you can buy into their program and make you think that you can do the same to the next uneducated person.
Another thing you need to know, is that you do not need to spend thousands of dollars to make thousand in return. I don’t care what anyone tells you.
If you still think that you can make thousands of dollars in a week like these scammers do, I would love for you to show me.
Making Money Online Doesn’t Happen Right Away
Rather than worrying about making money, I kept blogging, and blogging, and blogging, until about month 3, when I saw I had made my first sale.
This my friend, is one of the best feelings in the world and once that happened, I knew that I could make more of these sales.
It was worth one whole dollar and that is what made me realize that I had a legit program on my side. Of course I had the doubters that told me it was only $1.
What’s even crazier, is that when I had my first $400 month, they still didn’t think online marketing was worth anything.
It’s not until my first $1,000 month where people started to believe in what I was doing. Mind you, this was all done under a year.
You’re Building a Foundation
The one thing that I did understand, was the fact that this thing is not going to happen overnight and that it was going to take some time. But, when the time comes, I knew I would be making money consistently and all my work would pay off.
If I could do things differently, I would probably spend less time trying to make my site look pretty and probably focus more on my content. In the end, I wouldn’t do it any other way.
I now have a couple of websites that make me money and I don’t think I can ask for a better “job”. Thanks to the internet I now spend more time with my family and make a nice chunk of change every month. This is how I created my first blog and made money within my first 3 months.
