Making money from the internet all while working from home, a coffee shop, or any place that has an internet connection.
The way of life that comes with many benefits that I’m sure most people will ever only dream of.
- Not having to wake up and deal with the normal 9-5 schedule
- No boss breathing down your neck
- Working on your schedule
- More time with your family
And the list can go on and on about all the pros of being an online entrepreneur.
The one thing people don’t understand is that it can be a complicated thing when starting out, which is why 99% of those that embark in such an opportunity quit in the first place.
Within this post I want to share with you just a few things that have helped me become successful online and how I was able to get out of the military to pursue my dream of becoming my own boss.
My plan on becoming an online entrepreneur took a seat on the bench as I decided to give a real physical business a try and decided to purchase a bar instead.
That business started off with a flat tire and was pretty much a fail from the get go, which almost gave me no choice but to actually dig in and see what making money online was really about.
The first few months were just like any other business as the struggles and costs started to pile up without any income or anything close to an ROI.
With my bank account taking a hit from trying to find a legitimate way to make money online and a family that very much needed to eat, I had to keep trying until I found something that actually worked.
Through all the disappointment and lessons learned, I am happy to share a few things that have contributed to the success I have created all from the internet.
1.) Everything Starts With the Right Mindset
Becoming an online entrepreneur is a real thing and it definitely exists.
The first thing you need to do to create this lifestyle is to think how everyone else is not thinking.
Take a look at everyone that is giving you advice and really think about things for a second.
That same person telling you what to do is most likely not any type of entrepreneur but yet they know EVERYTHING that YOU should be doing.
I don’t care if it’s your mom, dad, uncle, aunt, or BFF, I want you to forget about what they are saying.
Everyone around you does not want what you want and that is completely fine.
Now if you want to be an online entrepreneur or any type of business person, you need to think like one.
Waking up for work and trying to get that promotion is not going to get you to where you want to be and associating yourself with the people in that world isn’t either.
I’m not saying to cut everyone out of your life but try to keep work related stuff out of the conversation or they will only try to bring you down with them.
Remember now, they want nothing close to what you want, so listening to them will not help you get what you want.
2.) Understand the Internet
There are several things that the online world is full of and they are Scam, scams, and more scams.
Almost every “opportunity” you come across will either be a flat out scam or some type of recruiting based program.
In some cases, it will actually be both.
If someone reached out to you trying to tell you that they find your golden ticket to financial freedom, chances are that he/she is of course trying to recruit you so that they can make money.
Now if you come across something that claims to make you any type of crazy income in a short amount of time, just avoid that as you are most likely going to have some money taken out of your bank account.
With the access to billions of people, scammers are out there and will do anything they can to get money from you, so don’t think that everyone or anyone is really trying to help you.
Crypto Currency ponzis are also a big hit these days so be careful when someone approaches you about them as they really don’t understand what revenue sharing really is and how those companies are even making money.
They are nothing but ponzi schemes that are fueled by the recruitment of others just so that the company can keep “paying” its members.
As long as you follow the good old saying of “if it seems too good to be true, then it most likely it” then you won’t have any problems avoiding scams.
Don’t be desperate and don’t be gullible.
3.) Get With the Program
The right one that is.
If you are going to become any type of online businessman, you need to know exactly what to get involved with.
There are only a handful of ways to make money online and that is about it.
I’m not a fan of multilevel marketing as they are very much reliant on recruiting but I would recommend you join one any day before telling you to go and work to make someone else richer.

4.) Learn, Learn, and Learn Some More
Learning is a big part of life.
Whether it be in school or at your next job, you are required to learn and that’s just how it is.
As an online businessman, you will still need to know what you’re doing.
There is so much that needs to be learned before you can call yourself an online entrepreneur and that is something that most people won’t ever understand.
Understanding the basics of online marketing is one thing but exploring the many aspects of it will require hours and days of learning and testing before you can even move on to anything else.
If learning is a problem for you then you are probably not cutout for something like this.
5.) Build Your Brand
It doesn’t matter what field you plan on entering, you need to build some type of brand.
Every site I run comes with its brand in itself but it all leads to me, which is the face of all these small brands.
Just like you see on here, I have created the work at home jobs brand and it is just one of my passions that I have LEARNED to grow and love, as well as share with others.
I have another site in the home office niche, which has its brand as well but will always lead to me as the person running these sites.
My sites have their brands and I am my own brand.
So when you do all this learning I talked about earlier, you will also learn more about yourself and then you can see what you are really about and it will help big time with creating your brand.
6.) Get Social
There are so many social media outlets that exist and I’m sure you have your top two that you won’t go a day without checking.
Whether it be Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, you will need to get involved with the people who are in your niche.
Get indulged in what everyone else has to share and do some sharing yourself.
This is also a great way to help with your mentality but please be careful as almost all make money online groups out there are nothing more than a hangout for recruiters.
There is also too much money flowing in and out of social media that you would be crazy not to tap in on the cash cow that it is.
7.) Evolve
As an online entrepreneur you need to understand that the internet is an ever evolving, always changing, type of thing and if you can’t understand that then you might just end up back at your old day job.
This way of getting traffic to your business might have worked last year but will not work this year and that is something you need to accept and change with.
Remember that you do have competition out there so it’s either you evolve or let them win and I’m sure you’re not in this to lose.
