Besides the fact that you are your own boss, there are many other perks that come with running an online business, which I’d like to share with you.
I have been a full-time online marketer for almost two years now and I must say it has been an amazing journey thus far.
After going through the learning and the ups and downs that come with any business, I think it’s time I talk about the good things that come with this and why I recommend anyone and everyone start their own online business.
Before committing to this full-time I was the jack of all trades. I was in the Army, worked a 9-5, and went to college, (which I eventually dropped out from). For good reasons of course.
Getting Started
Just like some of you out there, I was involved with a couple MLMs and really thought that that was the only way to work from home and be my own boss.
That was a big misunderstanding on my part and I hope you can learn from my mistake. You live and you learn, right?
Well all that is in the past and now I can honestly say that I am my own boss. Let me share a couple of reasons why internet marketing is one of the best jobs in the world. Yes, the world.
Perk #1
You are the one and only boss. Unlike other businesses out there, most people are NOT their own bosses. They are still working for someone else, and they still need to answer to them.
With online marketing, you are the one and only person who decides on everything that is related to your business.
All decisions are made by you, and you really don’t need to discuss anything with anyone, unless of course it’s your commander in chief. AKA, your other half.
Perk # 2
You decide when you want to work. I have two kids in elementary and a 1 year old that demands a lot of attention, so holding a normal job would not benefit me in any way, shape, or form.
If it wasn’t for my online business, I’d have so many things to worry about besides trying to make money just to live.
Being that I do own my online business, I get to decide when I want to do things. In the morning, (before I get my boys ready for school), I’ll get some work done and then wake them up to get ready.
I’ll drop them off and head home to finish up what I had started. By the time I’m done with work, my baby will be up and that leaves me time to feed him and give him some attention.
Throughout the day, I’ll do some work here and there, but it is all done on my own time. If I don’t want to work today, I simply do nothing. And yes, it’s really done just like that.
Perk #3
You decide where you want to work, and don’t think that you NEED the internet to work, because you really don’t
What I do when I don’t have an internet connection, is I get an article written out on one of my editor programs and then publish it when I do have the internet.
You can find me working at a coffee shop or even outside my house. As long as I have my laptop, you can find me doing work almost anywhere.
Perk #4
You decide who you want to work with. Unlike a regular job that leave you no choice with who you work with, you actually do get to decide who you work with.
As a matter of fact, you really don’t need to work with anyone. With me, my family is the people I work with. If they’re not tidying up the house, then we’re gonna have some problems.
However, I do decide who I want working for me. I hire writers every now and then and I hire and fire just like I would being the CEO of a traditional business.
If I don’t like how they work, I can’t have them around right? Like I said earlier, you are the boss. So don’t forget that if you are considering hire people to help with your online business.
Perk #5
You decide how you want things to be done. If you want your site to be sloppy, then so be it. You are in full control of everything that is done with your business.
If you want to put an ad here, then put it. If you want to have content on your site every single day, then you put it.
There will be no running things through a boss or another coworker because you my friend are the one who decides on what goes where.
Perk #6
You decide when you want to eat. For me, I tend to forget about eating, so that’s why I have my other half to tell me to get my behind up so we can go and have lunch.
For whatever it’s worth, I get to eat whenever I want. I once held a job that had us rotate for lunch and I really couldn’t stand the fact that I couldn’t eat with my coworkers.
I’m quite the social butterfly, so being able to talk to people at some point in the day will relieve some of the stress that came with my job.
Now, I call my old coworkers and we can actually all eat together. No more treating lunch like it’s strictly for eating, because now we can sit and talk about life.
Perk #7
You decide how much money you want to make. Yup, you literally can dictate how much money you want to make online.
I mean, you can’t find a bigger market than the world wide web, so do you really think there is a single business out there that gets more traffic than this?
There is no job that allows you to choose how much money you want to make, and most definitely don’t pay you enough.
Ahhh, the Life
Although this is not for everyone, these are some of the perks of running your own online business. I am so glad I found the right training facility, because I would probably still be at my old job making pennies.
