We all could use a little extra money. With technology on our side, I don’t see why you moms are not taking advantage of what the good ole internet has to offer. Little do you know, there is so much money that can be made from home, completely online.
There are many of you stay at home moms out there and most of you could be doing a lot more than the dishes and the laundry. I am no neat freak and I am no pig either, but please don’t take this the wrong way.
I think most moms spend way too much time doing chores around the house when they could be investing it into a solid online business. Today I want to show you the top online jobs for stay at home moms and how you can get started today. And don’t ever say that I told you to stop cleaning! (lol)
Blogging
This is absolutely the best job for anyone trying to make money from home and not just moms. I wouldn’t consider this a “job” but it is how I make money online and is also how thousands of others are doing it too, especially you stay at home moms.
I have seen so many “mommy blogs” and I love knowing that they are making money talking about things they love. Some of the most successful mommy bloggers talk about things like baking and skin care.
The modern work from home mom has now went from promoting Avon and Tupperware to creating an income completely for themselves and doesn’t require you to be that annoying person that’s always trying to sell something.
The Job:
With blogging, it is exactly that. You will create a weblog of something that you may have interest in while providing different products for your readers, which will have your affiliate link. There is no fee to signup with these programs and all give a pretty decent percentage from every sale generated from your link.
The Pay:
You can get paid for every single sale you make and depending on how much traffic and conversions you get, will decide on how much money you make. The amount of money you make through blogging can be as little as a couple of cents to as much as $50 + per sale.
There are many ways you get paid through your blogging efforts and they usually come directly from the company you signed up under. Nowadays most payments are done via Paypal which is a very safe way to do any online transactions.
Requirements:
- A computer
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to type
This job requires minimal skills of a computer and is going to require you to write articles that are associated with your niche. It does take time to build out a blog, but the reward can be life changing for some.
I recommend the Wealthy Affiliate if you want to learn everything about getting your blog fully functional and ready to make money. They offer a free website as well as awesome help from some of the most successful bloggers in the industry. Create a blog today and see what blogging can do for you as a stay at home mom.
Virtual Assistant
Believe it or not, there are more people looking for people to simplify their life by writing a schedule and doing several tasks online and are willing to pay you for your service.
The job:
You will be creating schedules for your clients, informing them of appointments, and several minimal tasks that some people don’t have time to do.
The Pay:
Pay usually starts at $10/hr if you work for an actual company, but can go to as much as $30/hr if you work directly with clients. If you develop a great relationship with your clients, most will offer better pay.
You can get paid through check, Paypal, and wire transfer.
Requirements:
- A Computer
- Knowledge of word editing programs
- Responsible
You need to be very reliable and must have knowledge of a computer as well as using spreadsheets and programs like Microsoft Office. You must be good with time management and will need to be able to “multitask” if I might say.
This is a great way to make a couple of bucks online and is actually not a very hard thing to do. You can check out sites like ODesk if you want to become a virtual assistant.
Become a Drop Shipper
Drop shipping is a very simple job but it can be very complicated if you don’t have any experience with online marketing. There is also a companies out there that will try and take your money, when drop shipping is completely free.
The Job:
You will be taking products from different companies and listing them on other sites to make a profit from each sale.
The Pay:
Depends on the amount of work you put in
Requirements:
- A computer
- Paypal Account (usually)
- Basic computer knowledge
Freelance Writing
Although, this is not a very high paying job, it sure beats any 9-5 in my opinion. This type of job is done mostly part-time, but it can pay well if you are that good of a writer.
There are always people looking for others that can write for them (myself included) and they make a couple of bucks for their service. This is why I always recommend blogging for anyone who is great at writing.
The Job:
Writing articles on various topics
The Pay:
$1 – $75 per hour depending on your work
Requirements:
- A Computer
- Good grammar
You can go to sites like Freelancer.com, which pays pretty decent. The best part about freelance writing is that you work on your time and you take on projects that you know you can handle.
I hope these jobs can help you bring in an extra income and hopefully replace a job that you don’t enjoy doing. Feel free to leave any questions you may have in the comments section below and I will gladly assist you.

A Work at Home Jobs
Thanks for sharing this! It is cool to see that there are so many different ways to make money by just having a computer. I think that a blogging job would be really nice to have. You can discuss different things important to you while still earning some money!
“Some money” is an understatement Delores. The earning potential for blogging is really amazing and people don’t really understand how it works. If you use programs like the Wealthy Affiliate, you can learn more about how all this is done and a lot more at that. I make more than all my old jobs put together, completely off of blogging. I must say, I love my job! lol
