Working from home has been many people’s dream but probably has never happened. Here are the 10 best work from home ideas that can get you started in the work from home industry. If these can’t help you then you might want to consider another career.
1. Create your Own Blog (Yes Blogging)
There is no better way to make money than to talk about things you already enjoy doing. I put this work from home idea at #1 because not only is it easy, but it is very, very profitable.
There are people making thousands and thousands of dollars just from blogging, in case you didn’t know that. I run a couple of blogs and that is what has allowed me to be the work from home dad that I am. Blogging is apart of my life and it can be apart of yours too, if you get the right training.
There are places that offer excellent training that can get you started with blogging, absolutely free. I have used them for all my blogging needs and you can trust that they will teach you how to make the most money from your blog.
2. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing goes right along with blogging and is the best way to make money because of the fact that you don’t need your own product.
As an affiliate marketer, you will find different products online with companies that offer affiliate programs and sell their products for them through your blog or website and getting a commission, which is why I said it goes right along blogging.
So you probably know, I do some affiliate marketing within my blogs and it is something you can do as well. Get Started with affiliate marketing which I believe is the best business in the world.
3. Sell on Amazon or Ebay
You are probably a big time shopper on Amazon.com or Ebay which is totally fine. What if you turned around and became the seller to make some money?
You’re probably thinking, hmm, I do have a couple of things that I can sell but I don’t know how to sell on these sites.
Let’s just say that I wasn’t trying to tell you to sell your own products, but rather products that already exist on those sites. Yup, this would be affiliate marketing.
With Amazon, you don’t need a website or a blog to sell products but I do suggest you get one. These days you can get a website for free and you can use it to promote Amazon or Ebay products.
4. Sell your Service on Fiverr
Although I have never sold anything on Fiverr, I have used their services. With a $5 price, who wouldn’t want a nice looking logo or some nice looking ads.
If you have any skill or service you can provide for $5 give Fiverr a shot, and I mean anything. Here is an example of what people are selling on Fiverr.
5. Data Entry
This is another work from home idea that I think is pretty easy. Not only is it easy but there are people actually looking for you to enter data for them.
If you know what a typist is, then this is what a data entry clerk would be. Nowadays, there a data entry jobs that can be attained online and you too can be a data entry clerk.
6. Virtual Assistant
Being a virtual assistant is exactly what you will be doing, assisting someone else virtually. Everything will be done online and you will be getting paid online as well, unless of course you opt to get it via check in the mail.
Heck, you can even be a virtual real estate assistant. Who would’ve thought huh? This is just another idea that you can choose from from.
There are so many things you can do on the internet it is ridiculous!
7. Artist
If you have some talent as an artist this is one job you can do from home and make money as well. There are sites like Odesk that you can work with to sell your work.
I know too many artists that aren’t making half of what they SHOULD be making as an artist. Me personally, I give a lot of respect to great art work and I think they should make a lot of money. Become an online artist and see how much you can get doing it.
Who doesn’t love some good art? If I could do half the work some artists do I would probably be doing some virtual art too. Take your work to another level and showcase your skills to the online community. Of course you can create a blog and talk about art all day as well.
8. Freelance Writer
This is one of the most typical online jobs that are out there and that is why I had to put this one a little further down the list.
Although this is one of the jobs out there, I don’t really promote it because I don’t like people wasting their time writing for someone else. Refer to #1 and you will know why.
Even though I don’t really care about freelance writing, you can do this at Freelancer.com and get paid writing for other people. Some of us just don’t have the time to write so hiring someone is always an option.
9. Fill Out Surveys
Filling out surveys is the absolute lowest paying job that I can show you. You can get as little as cents to a couple of dollars for each survey you fill out. I know it doesn’t sound like much but if you know anything about business, it can add up.
Who even gets paid to fill out surveys? I think it’s worth it for the type of work you’re doing but it is not a way I would suggest if you are looking to make the internet a career.
10. Join a Multilevel Marketing (MLM) Business
Although I wouldn’t recommend Amway to anyone, it is still an option. That was just an example of an MLM business btw. I chose Amway because it is one of the more popular ones out there and it has been around for a really, really long time.
There are actually people out there making a lot of money with MLM and work from home. I have tried my share of MLM businesses and I ended up quitting. MLM is just not for everyone.
I don’t like the recruiting nonsense that comes with this business but to some this may be a great job for them. If you are interested in MLM, click here and see a list of the top MLM companies.
I hope you found these best work from home ideas to be helpful to you and I hope you apply yourself to at least one of these. If you do, you will see how much the internet has to offer and how it can change your life. To whatever it is that you decide to do, cheers!

A Work at Home Jobs
Mac
Thanks for the nice post well now working from home has become more cost effective.. so I think working from home is wise in comparison of working 24/7
John
Just like anything out there, it is not for everyone. The only reason why I work from home is because I wanted to. I most especially do online marketing because I got tired of jumping from one MLM to the next hoping that I would be able to kick my 9-5 to the curb. Thanks for the comment Mac and good luck!

This is one of the best websites I’ve seen. You have loads of well presented posts with great graphics. Have you ever used Fiverr.com to buy or sell your work? If so, how did you find it?
John
I have tried Fiverr but got some very poor work, so I decided to learn how to do it myself and this is what you see. I do find some of the services on there to be really good, but they are really hard to find. I currently have too much on my plate so selling my work would have to come at a later date. Thanks for the comment Rob.
