I’ve chased the shiny little objects and fell for many scams online, thinking that I was going to make a killing on the internet.

Making money online is not magic and doesn’t always require you to get your wife’s friend’s friend to join in order to make it either.

Thanks to affiliate marketing, we are able to make money selling other people’s products.

Yup, I don’t own a single thing I sell and I don’t recruit a single person into my network marketing business with some type of pyramid scheme.

I have been doing affiliate marketing for the past two years and I am forever grateful for what a company called the Wealthy Affiliate has done for me and my family.

Forget about what you’ve heard or learned about how money is made online and do pay attention to what I’m about to share with you.

This is what helped me quit my job and it is also what allows me to spend more time with my family and I want you to do the same.

If you can understand that there is no push button secret or get rich overnight type product, you can and will make money online.

Before you can make any money and succeed with affiliate marketing, you need to know some things and I’d like to share them with you below.

You Need Training and Not Just Any Kind of Training

Of course, there’s a lot of these “systems” out there that offer training, but most of it is downright bad and only in favor of the product owner making money.

When you can find a training program that has been proven to work, it’s just a matter of following along with the system until you start profiting.

Without ANY training, you’re running around like a headless chicken.

You’ll be lucky to make a few dollars online, and that’s no exaggeration either.

You need a solid training program that comes with some guidance and most especially some one on one type help.

Trusted System

You can’t make money from a scam, obviously but why do that when you can use something better?

So you need a network/system that has been proven to be legit.

Not by people that are trying to recruit others into the same system that they just joined either, because there are more than enough of those around.

Pyramid Schemes designed as MLM’s, MLMs, Ponzi Schemes, they are everywhere!

And a lot of the time you will see they have people on the front page of Google praising the hell out of it just to get you to join.

But of course, it’s not long before they get shutdown and run away with everyone’s money.

Sad but true.

The legit ones are very hard to find, but do know that all of them require you to work.

Support

There’s a good reason why the people who gain support on the internet tend to get further in their online marketing ventures than the ones who don’t, and that’s because you can’t get where you want in life alone.

Well…you can, but you’re likely going to fail over and over and end up quitting before you even get close to making it big.

With the right support, you have someone there helping you along the way, pushing you to keep going. Because if it was that easy, everyone will be doing it!

Get involved with a solid network and please make sure that it”s something that DOES NOT REQUIRE YOU TO RECRUIT OTHER PEOPLE.

Recruiting other people in order for you to make money is not a business.

Getting people to buy something they are in need of or already using is how it should be done and that’s how I run my business.

Some Online Real Estate

I don’t care how experienced you are, even the highest online earners have a website, so it should come as no surprise that you need one as well – especially if you’re struggling to make your first few dollars online!

Without a website, you don’t have your own online real estate, and you are missing out on a lot of free traffic.

But most of all, you are leaving money on the table.

Look at a website as your own store.

It’s a store that doesn’t do any normal selling either.

And if you want to even get started with affiliate marketing, most affiliate networks require you to have a website before you can start promoting any of their products.

So yes, owning your own website is a must.

Trusted Affiliate Network

Believe it or not, it’s a lot easier to sell an item that’s on a trusted network, from a website that a lot of people know.

Would you trust a site that you’ve never heard of?

Probably not.

Every man and his dog knows Amazon, and there’s a high chance you’ve used them yourself – probably more than once.

It’s a lot harder to sell a random e-book, especially if you aren’t 100% sure that it works and going to solve your audiences problem.

With Amazon, it’s a lot easier to sell an item, simply because the trust is already there.

You just have to provide your audience with as much information about a specific product that they need, and if they click your link and purchase an item, it’s payday for you!

This is always why I recommend doing product reviews for a living or something along those lines.

You Need To Fail

That’s correct. Without failing, you don’t know what works and what doesn’t work.

There’s no doubt 99% of SUCCESSFUL online marketers fail constantly before getting their all-important breakthrough.

With failing, you don’t LEARN. Failing is what helps you grow as a person, it’s what pushes you to keep moving forward and it slaps you right back to reality.

Just because you fail a few times, or even a LOT, please do not give up.

Too many people quit right before they are about to make it and it really breaks my heart knowing that they were that close.

Don’t be that person.

Is Internet Marketing Even For You?

Just know that Internet Marketing isn’t for everyone.

As bad as we all want to be our own boss and work from home, this just isn’t for everyone.

Now some people can’t stand the 9-5 grind, but they still don’t want to change their ways to get out of the cycle and it’s sad to say, but it doesn’t work like that.

If you’re not happy with your life, if it’s making you miserable, why not change it?

I don’t understand the logic of people sometimes, but that’s just how it is.

It first starts with the person themselves, and that is why a lot of MLM programs fail, and the members that use them.

Most of their members try and recruit their coworkers, family members, friends, and even “social media friends”.

But it NEVER turns out the way they pictured it in their mind – with the fancy cars, big houses, endless holidays, and financial freedom.

Talk about nothing but hype.

What Should You Do?

“Okay, John. I’m stuck on what to do now, is it even possible to make a full-time income online?”.

There most definitely is!

However, it is for hard workers only and NOT tire kickers looking for a free ride.

If you’re expecting to work for a week and make money for years to come, then you might want to tell your boss how much you love it there because that’s where you’ll probably be for the next 20 years.

Online businesses take months to build up, so you are going to need some patience.

If you’re willing to put in 3-6 months of work towards your future – minimum, then you are on the right track to financial freedom.

If not, then this isn’t for you.
