Xtreme Green is a relatively recent company that came about circa 2014 offering customers the opportunity to fuel their car in a way that was a little bit more economical, and a little bit better for the environment.
It also offered the entrepreneurial sort the opportunity to sell the experience of environmental/wallet friendly fueling.
As you would of course imagine, Xtreme Green is a Multi Level Marketing (MLM) company, which means that it sales gifted individuals can join up and use their talents to earn a side hustle, or even a straight up income.
The goal of this, and indeed, virtually all MLMs is to encourage affiliates to do two things: move products, and find other people who are willing to do the same.
In fact, even though sales is a critical component of succeeding in the world of MLM, recruiting is actually perhaps the most lucrative way to succeed in this field.
Perhaps the emphasis Xtreme Green places on affiliate recruitment is what brought you here in the first place.
Did someone you know, or maybe didn’t know so well, approach you to see if you were interested in becoming an affiliate at Xtreme Green?
They did this for the sweet commission that they make every time that they bring someone into the company.
This doesn’t mean that the opportunity isn’t legitimate but it does mean you need to take a hard look at the realities of working with this company.
For instance, if you are going to want to start selling their wares, it is going to cost you a little bit of scratch.
Joining isn’t terribly expensive: their most basic package starts at just $29.95, but there are more advanced options that go all the way up to $449—a figure that may be a little bit more burdensome to your budget.
Paying these fees gives you access to their product line, and their good name. But of course, you can’t know whether or not they are worth your time and money until you look into what they are selling, right?
And just what is that again?
What You Will be Selling
Can you say “fuel additive”?
Probably.
It isn’t very hard.
But do you know what it means?
The name of the game at Xtreme Green is fuel efficiency.
They sell a variety of chemicals and solutions that are designed to treat your engine and fuel reserves in your car in order to ensure that you get the most out of your gas tank.
The idea is that their products are going to be better for the environment (as less fuel will be wasted) and better for your wallet (because less fuel will be wasted).
Their principle claim is that they make products that are “eco-engineered for today’s vehicles with tomorrows environment in mind”.
Are these claims true?
This is obviously going to be hard to say, but as a guiding principle it is fairly safe to assume that anything that mitigates the issue of over-exhausting fossil fuel resources is going to be a good thing.
But keep in mind that as a potential sales advocate for this product, your concern is not just whether or not it is a good thing it is also whether or not you can sell it.
So, let’s examine that.
Xtreme Green’s product line currently seems to range from products that cost between $10 and $40.
Their more useful products that are designed for fuel and engine efficiency skew on the higher end of this spectrum.
Outlook for sales potential actually looks pretty good.
While not everyone has an extra forty dollars to pour into their gas tank, there is definitely a strong interest for stuff like this in the green living community.
There are plenty of people out there that want to do everything that they can to help the environment, and they are willing to pay for it.
The nice thing is that these are products that need to be replaced fairly regularly. This means that if you are good at what you do you have the potential to easily build a repeat customer base.
All in all, the sales potential for this niche product line is looking pretty good.
Compensation Plan
How much can you expect to make with this company? That’s the bottom line, right? Well, to start, we should mention that there is no salary for working as an affiliate at Xtreme Green.
As is true with all MLMs, every penny that you make is earned through sales and recruitment commissions.
Naturally, if you aren’t sales minded, this is going to be a little bit daunting, but then perhaps it will also serve as a way to attract only qualified affiliates.
If you do decide to give it a shot, you are going to be dealing with a pretty standard compensation model.
The standard rate of commission is forty percent on most sales, but this gets bumped up to forty five percent on four pack orders, and fifty percent for case orders.
Then there are the recruitment commissions. In this instance how much you get paid is going to depend on how much the person you sign up ends up spending.
If they buy in at the most basic level you get a thirty dollar commission. If you can sell them on the biggest package (which costs $449) you get a $100 commission.
Then, you also get smaller commissions based on the sales generated by people that you recruit. This figure comes in at ten percent of their sales.
If you recruit enough active affiliates, you can earn a decent income from their work alone.
It all sounds pretty good, right?
While there is no readily available information on how much Xtreme Green affiliates are bringing home, it is only fair to mention that in the broader world of MLMs, most people don’t earn very much.
Most don’t break even.
The ones that do often only generate a few hundred dollars a year.
Does this mean that you shouldn’t give Xtreme Green a try?
Of course not, but it does mean you need to manage expectations and come prepared.
Final Verdict: Legit
Although I don’t see this as being your best choice when it comes to business options, this is at the very least not a scam.
Very much different from the Amways and Tupperwares that I’m used to seeing but it can work.
I’m also not a scientist so I couldn’t tell you what type of benefit these products serve to our environment but that’s how it always is with any MLM.
Do I think you should join?
Probably not.
What I Really Think
Back in the early days of me trying to figure out this thing called life, I used to think MLM was the only way for the little guy to get ahead.
That’s what I thought until I found out about this thing called affiliate marketing.
After using a program called the Wealthy Affiliate, I not only learned how to make money selling other people’s products online but I realized that recruiting wasn’t the only way.
It is a way to get out of the rat race but probably the hardest way to do it.
I mean, who doesn’t know about the lotions and potions business these days?
I think my family and friends were about fed up with my promotions so I think they’re glad I’m finally doing something that doesn’t have them feeling sorry for me.
