Make Money Testing Websites For $40 – $60 a Day

Last Updated: December 20, 2018 //  by John

There are many ways to make money online and testing websites is just one of them.

I mean, we all need money, right?

And like almost one hundred percent of the world, you also probably have a pretty strong affinity for the world wide web (evidenced at least by the fact that you are on it right now).

What if I told you there was a way that you could combine your love of surfing the internet with your need to put some cash in your wallet?

Well the good news is that this plushy lifestyle isn’t as outlandish as you would guess.

There are plenty of people out there that are making cash testing websites. Today we are going to explore what it would take for you to become one of them.

Read on for a guide to becoming a website tester!

Who this Job is Best For

Let’s put it this way, if you had trouble getting online just to read this article, the life of the website tester probably is not going to be for you.

You actually don’t need to be an expert coder to take advantage of these opportunities.

After all, it’s not only master coders that use websites, right?

The idea here is to see how a particular site works for the average user, and chances are (no offense) that that is you.

In other words, if you struggle to get around the site, that could actually be helpful information to the person that hired you, as that is the sort of thing that they need to be aware of in order to make their website pop.

That said, you still need to be able to articulate the problem and you need to at least know enough about websites to be able to explain to the person running it what worked and what didn’t.

Basically, this job is suitable for anyone that is able to recognize and express what they like in a website and what they don’t like.

How to Get the Job

I think a lot of people would be surprised how easy it is to start making money with this lucrative side hustle.

In order to start making money as a website tester all that you really need to do is sign up.

Sounds almost too good to be true, right?

You probably are not going to get every job that you sign up for, but you’ll also probably land a lot more testing gigs than you would guess.

Keep in mind that people generally get testing jobs on a freelance basis, meaning that you aren’t likely to get hired for any long term jobs.

Because of that web testing generally does not work out as a career simply for the fact that the income stream is not as stable as most people require.

However, it is still a great way to make some quick and easy money from the comfort of your own home.

All that you need to get started is internet access, a computer, and a comfortable place to site and get down to work.

Judging from the fact that you are reading this, you probably already have all three.

Requirements

There actually aren’t any set requirements to land this gig but that doesn’t mean that websites are gong to hire just anyone to test their stuff.

All it really means is that you might encounter different filtering mechanisms depending on who you are trying to work for.

The only real requirements that you will encounter universally are the ones that I listed above.

You’ll need a computer and internet access to tackle any and every job in this field.

That aside it is probably going to depend mostly on the nature of the site.

For example some sites may be looking to appeal to the internet illiterate.

Others may understand that their user-ship consists of more experienced participants in the world wide web.

Chances are they will probably want to screen to make sure that you fall into their key demographic.

They may accomplish this through a series of questions or even a short survey.

If you pass, you get the gig.

If you don’t meet the requirements, well, keep hunting.

There is no shame in that—no one lands every job that they want, right?

Recommended Tester Sites

  • usertesting.com
  • Testingtime.com
  • Userfeel.com
  • Loop11.com
  • Enrollapp.com

There are more testing sites out there but these are the ones we know work best.

How Much Money You Can Expect to Make

If you are looking for a get rich quick scheme, this is not going to be it.

However, if you are looking for a sporadic but lucrative method of padding your bank account occasionally than this is definitely an avenue to consider.

How much money you make is going to vary job to job, website to website.

That said, most sites pay around ten to twenty dollars per test.

Naturally your income will also be dependent on how quickly and how often that you are able to work.

The average test takes around twenty to thirty minutes when it is all said and done, which at least theoretically equates to a possible income of forty or even sixty (if you aren’t wasting any time at all) dollars an hour.

I can picture your eyes widening right now.

Sixty dollars an hour is no joke, right?

Well simmer down a little bit.

Unfortunately, I am not saying that you should expect to make that much.

That figure would assume that you were able to complete three well paying tests an hour every hour for the entirety of a work day.

Unfortunately, that simply is not how things usually go.

Generally you are probably only going to land a test or two a day, which most likely is not going to be enough to live on.

Still, who would say no to an extra forty bucks a day in their pocket, right?

Conclusion

This isn’t a job that you get into because you want to get rich. Unfortunately, due to the scarcity of the work that simply isn’t a very viable possibility.

However, it is certainly a gig that you can take up if you want to make really good side money from the comfort of your home. And who doesn’t want that, right?

Become a website tester today and see if this is something you see yourself doing.
