Before I took the plunge into the online world, I used to buy and sell cars. That was not the easiest job, but boy did I make some of the quickest cash ever.
That was my main business, but I also bought and resold whatever I could get my hands on. As long as I was getting a complete steal, I would purchase almost anything.
These days I focus my buying and selling 100% online and for a few good reasons at that. If you are looking to get into the buying and selling world, the internet might be your best bet.
What Bigger Market is There?
Rather than trying to sell to a small group of people, I now sell to the biggest market in the world. Literally. You will not find more people in one place, as you would the world wide web.
There are over 2 billion people on the internet every single day, and you would be crazy not to cash in on the constant flow of traffic that you have access to any time of the day.
Along with the biggest market, you have people that are trying to get rid of stuff as well as those that are trying to look for stuff.
Whether it be a nice pair of shoes or some type of information, there are people constantly looking for something and I want you to cash in on that.
People Don’t Know What Things are Really Worth
Before I became an online marketer, I was a serious online shopper. With sites like Ebay.com, it was too easy to find the best deals out there.
From a $40 pair of shoes that someone didn’t want, to a softball glove that was worth $200 that I got down to $100, I got items for the best prices.
You see guys, there are millions of products being sold online and for the most part, people are just looking to get rid of some of their unwanted stuff.
This is where you as the marketer (person who wants to make money) comes into play. Get it for a more than affordable price, and sell it to someone that absolutely needs it.
How it’s Done
Some people try and argue that drop shipping is illegal, but there is really no argument there. If you buy something for whatever price, that product is yours. Case closed.
Now what you do with this product is completely up to you. Whether you sell that $1 item for $100 or throw it in the dump is completely up to you.
The thing about this, is it’s not as easy as you think and requires some knowledge and patience. If you don’t have it in your mind that you need to always have capital, then you shouldn’t be buying and reselling.
What You Need
Well, you are going to need some startup capital, aka money that you will invest to get these products. Without constantly purchasing and reselling, you won’t be in business, which of course will result in you quitting and trying to do whatever else it was that you were doing.
You will also need several accounts. One to buy the product, and another to resell it. You can always sell it on the same place you bought it from and still make a profit, which will still work.
what most people do is buy a product on Amazon and resell it on Ebay. There are always bargains online and if you do enough research and get them for a steal of a deal.
Buying in Bulk
Just like you would a normal business, you can buy a bunch of one item and get it for a lot cheaper than buying them individually. You then turn around and sell them individually making yet again, another profit.
There are sites like Alibaba.com, which sells many (and I mean many) different products for dirt cheap. You can always open up a retail store and sell them there.
If you are familiar with building websites and blogging, you can always add them to your site and let the internet do the work for you. There is just so much benefit that comes out of doing things online.
- You don’t have to own a product
- No shipping on your end
- No dealing with returns
- You have the world to sell to
I don’t know if this is enough for you to see the potential of the internet, but the world is shifting to a lot more buying online as well as businesses being created daily.
What if You Don’t Want to Deal With all of That?
Create a blog. That is probably the easiest way to get an online business up and running, hands down. Even if it can take some time to start making money, the end result is worth every hour spent on that site.
Whatever you do decide to do, you always need to keep on moving. Let your business sit and you won’t make any money. Get on top of things and you can run a very successful business online just from buying and selling.
I hope this post helps give you some ideas on what you can do with the internet. If you have any questions about buying and reselling or anything related to making money online, please feel free to leave your questions below. Cheers!
