Some say that beauty is only skin deep.
While I agree that beauty may not be everything, there is definitely a big enough client base in diet plans and cosmetics to make you realize that perhaps our skin isn’t as thick as we would like it to be.
Beauty on the inside is far more important than a pretty face but if looking good equals feeling good, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing a decent outfit and showing the world what you are made of.
But how can one make a living just talking about beauty instead of just showing it?
Well, if you love writing as much as you love talking about what it means to be beautiful, you could really financially sustain yourself via a blog or wholesaling product.
The fact is that it may not be easy but you will soon see that it may not be as impossible as previously thought.
Find Your Platform and Stand on it Proudly!
While there are a number of various blogging sites you can use (Tumblr and WordPress being the current hot ticket items) it is also necessary to figure out just exactly what you want to market.
Celebrity make-up tutorials may be a dime a dozen but what is it that makes you and your words so special.
Find that niche and use it.
If you can draw perfect eyebrows don’t be shy! Use your ability to write what you know and show others how it’s done!
Once you have got the market all but covered you will need to use your voice as much as possible.
Whichever site you chose to use should be filled to the brim not only with your content but with reviews of those that read and use your content as well.
Don’t be afraid to start out by having friends and family give you a helpful shout out now and again until your name becomes common among users.
The more you write and the more content you have the more people are going to read.
The more people that read your blog the more advertisers are going to want to pay you good money to promote their brands.
Which brings us to our next bit of advice.
Be True and Have Patience.
Internet stardom rarely, if ever, actually happens overnight.
You need to spend months, not just days, putting time and effort into your blog. Often times people will give up after a matter of weeks but whatever you do, do not get discouraged.
If you are true to yourself and true to your brand you will find your place. This also means being true to any and all brands which you support.
If you are going to do a review of a product that you may know little to nothing about and/or absolutely hate or do not endorse what so ever, it is probably not a good idea to promote said item no matter how much they are willing to pay you.
A few hundred dollars in your bank account may look good right now but the second someone finds out you were paid off (and believe you-me they sure as fire burns will!) all of your credibility is out the window.
If you lose your credibility it no longer matters what you have to say or how well you say it. From then on out, no one is going to trust you ever again.
Always remember to put your readers first and the products a very far second. Lies will never pay your bills.

Using Marketing To Your Advantage.
As mentioned before, one good way to make money is to be so popular that companies pay you to give positive reviews of their products, but what happens when you don’t want to review as much as you just want to instruct?
A couple of ways to make money this way is by advertising and marketing. You can do this either by affiliating with certain products or by simply agreeing to advertise certain products directly on your page.
By advertising products on your blog, you will likely be getting more money, but with some risk. The risk being usually the advertising comes in the form of one of those annoying flashing banners you sometimes see at the top or bottom of a webpage.
These are all fine and good once someone actually clicks them but the risk comes from the possibility that no one will click them at all.
This is where affiliations come in. More than just a “pay to review”, an actual affiliate program with a company means that you will recommend their product for a fee as well as possibly getting free samples and discounts for yourself.
Much like the “pay to review” concept, however, you would not want to sign on with a company you did not agree with or simply did not like their products.
Make sure it is a business you truly do endorse and not just go with the higher bidder. If you have a high enough fan base for companies to want to pay you, your readers are going to know when you start fibbing just to make money.
So as it is in most cases honesty really is the best policy.
Making Yourself Up
The truth is the competitive world of beauty blogging may not be pretty but if you are willing to put in the work, you can make a decent living by helping others become the beauty queens they know they can be.
Just remember the key eliminates: be proud of what you write, be true to yourself, and always put your readers first.
And don’t forget, it may seem like the big corporations are the ones signing your paychecks but when you really think about it, it’s the beautiful people that faithfully follow your blog that actually pay your bills.
After all, if it wasn’t for your loyal fan base you would not have those big corporations wanting to pay you in the first place.
So never give up, always follow your dreams, and above all else always stay beautiful.
