How I Made my First Dollar
The first dollar is always going to be the hardest and the most memorable one. There’s no better feeling than putting effort into something and then it finally pays off.
Honestly, it took me about 4 months before I even saw anything in return, but I was totally fine with that. The point is, I made money! Not everyone can say the same and I am one of them.
In those 4 months, I really thought of giving up. I blogged everyday applied myself after the training, and still, nothing.. All I was ever told was to be patient and don’t give up, the money will come.
Then I logged in and saw the words, “you got a commission”. I couldn’t contain myself and I literally screamed. After that dollar, I knew there was more money to be made and it wasn’t going to be made if I didn’t do anything, so I got back to work.
Giving up was not an option for me, especially how my story goes went..
I Quit! (Do Not Try This at Home)
Yup, that’s what I told my boss and not because I found a better job or I wasn’t happy, but because I wanted to make a living on the internet. Alright, it wasn’t that dramatic, but I did quit my job and I did it to focus on building my online business. Why? Well let’s see here.
- I wanted more time with my kids
- Was making pennies for some hard work
- I wanted to work on my own time
- I wanted to make more money (lots of it)
Now these were my reasons for quitting, but things didn’t go as planned. Like I said earlier, it took me 4 months to make my first dollar online, so you can see how long I went without an income.
I actually fell back on bills and was probably more stressed out than ever, but I was not going to give up. I knew this was what I wanted, so I kept chugging along.
Why Else Would You Do Such a Thing?
Well being as stubborn and strong headed as I was, there was more than just wanting to be free that made me want to live the laptop lifestyle.
- I knew how much people were online every single minute (billions)
- I knew there was so much money being spent online, every single day.
- I was introduced to a couple of online millionaires.
Even just that last reason was enough for me to give online marketing a try, but I have my reasons. Here are a little more stats on how much money is going around the world wide web, which I got from visual.ly.
So there are some stats to let you know what type of money is floating around the internet. I buy online an so do a lot of people, so why not leverage from it? This is actually one of the biggest reasons why I wanted to learn everything about online marketing, which I’m glad I did.
That Million Dollar Feeling
I remember checking my stats every single day, which was a total waste of time and something you shouldn’t do. Every day that passed, nothing. All it led to was frustration and disappointment. But guess what? I KNEW this was it and it was one of the only ways to make a lot of money.
Then my first sale came, whew! That was all I needed to let me know that this worked and all I had to do now, was exactly what I’ve been doing to make that first sale, so back to work I went.
As an online marketer, your first sale is always going to be the game changer. Of course I made another sale, and then another, until I hit my first $100. Things just started to work out for the better and now I can shut all the doubters up.

Should You Try Online Marketing?
Duh! The reason why I knew this was it, was because I was working with the best in the business and they told me exactly what I had to do. Very simple tasks, but it needed to be done.
I am currently a full-time online marketer and I can’t ask for a better job. Most people don’t call it a job, because of the type of “work” that comes along with it, but I like to say it to make me feel that much more productive.
My suggestion to you, give it a try and if it’s not for you, then just stop. It does require you to work, but the reward is amazing. The best part about this whole thing, is the fact that you can start for free, just to see if it’s right for you.
