You Decide Where You Want to be 1, 5, or even 10 Years from Now
We all work and that’s life. Some of us work harder than others, and some of us actually work smarter (I learned that from the Army By the way). Just like anyone out there working whatever job it is that they do, I do just that.
The difference with me and what separated me from the rest, is that I took a different route and decided to stay away from the norm. I knew there was more to life than living paycheck to paycheck or being the soldier that I was for the past 10 years. That’s when I decided to make a move.
I knew there was money being made online and I knew they were making a lot of it. I did my research and just like many people, I ran into my very first scam (click here to see this scam). Did that stop me? Hell no! Just like the little engine that could, I tried and tried until I found something and someone that wasn’t trying to scam me.
Don’t Let Anyone (And I Mean Anyone) Tell You What to Do
Just like any business out there, you are going to have the negativity. DO NOT let that stop you. Believe it or not, I actually quit my job before I even started to make any money online. Please don’t do what I did. I actually quit my job to focus on my online business, but life happened. Now that I think about it, I was actually pretty crazy.
Okay let’s back things up a little here. I did quit my job to get my online business off the ground, but I ended up trying to do other things. I bought a bar and that did nothing but take me away from what I really set out to do. It eventually got shutdown and it left me with not so many options, especially with a bank account that said – $500!
Everything Happens for a Reason
I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and I think that is exactly what happened. I ran the bar for about a year, without paying any attention to what my plan was from the beginning.
With the bar getting shutdown, it left me with no choice but to make this thing work. I had no money and the bills were piling up really fast. You can tell where my life went from there on, and no I didn’t win the lottery and live happily ever after.
I did go into debt (big time) and I actually started to do some work online. I knew this was what I wanted to do and I wasn’t going to let anyone get in the way.
I went through the training at Wealthy Affiliate and followed everything that I was being taught. If Kyle said write a post and do ten pushups, I did it. I was so determined and I knew this would be my way out of the 9-5 world.
Did I Tell You About Not Letting Anyone Tell You What to Do?
Back to not letting anyone tell you what to do, I still had my mom to deal with. With her being “old school”, I had a couple of encounters of her negative BS about “how can you just sit in front of that computer everyday?”.
I think I’ve heard enough negative nonsense from the people in my life to let it go in one ear and out the other. Along with my mom, I had the mother of my children who of course was negative too. She can say “Oh yeah babe, I know this works”, but I know she didn’t believe in a damn thing I was doing.

Show Me The Money!
I also believe that Money talks and BS walks. Just like everyone else that lives to work, she wouldn’t believe me until I made some type of money.
When I made my first sale, I can’t explain how excited I was. It wasn’t the same for my girlfriend, because that wasn’t enough. Are you kidding me?! Can you say gold digger? Just kidding, don’t tell her I said that.
Even when I told her I made $20, that still didn’t impress her. It was when I had my first $200 month when she finally became a believer.
That’s when I got the real support I needed to take this business to another level and that’s when I was able to create a solid income from home. Along with my girlfriend finally understanding how things worked in the online marketing world, I finally had some type of support.
