Hookum Review – Can You Really Make Money Giving Away Free Stuff?

January 21, 2017 //  by John

hookum-reviewWondering if this is a scam? This Hookum review will give you all the information you need so that you know exactly what you will be getting yourself into.

Another Warrior Plus product, so don’t be expecting some high quality product, but I always believe you have to give everything a chance before you write it off.

I am not here to promote this and offer you some special bonus like all the other Hookum reviews out there, so you can expect an honest and unbiased take on something that may or may not work.

This review is not going to take all day, so I suggest you read this to the end so you don’t make any decisions you might end up regretting.

Hookum Review

Name: Hookum

Owner: Mark Bishop & Vankata Ramana

Website: www.hookum.co

Price: $7.93 + up-sells

Overall Rating: 2/5 stars

Product Overview

Hookum is a product that uses “old school” tactics of giving away something free (like an e-book) in exchange for their email address in order to build an email marketing list.

It is spearheaded by Mark Bishop who is known as “Bish” who has partnered up with Vankata Ramana, who is an info product specialist.

The Product & How it Works

Hookum is a members type website with a Facebook mastermind group that allows you to get help if necessary as well as interact with other members of the site.

The product comes with some PDF and video trainings on creating an ad, offering a free product, and collecting email addresses to build an email marketing list.

There are a few up-sells, but surprisingly, they are very affordable and are all one time offers.

It’s a very simple course that shows you how to create a free offer on a website (not included), from which your visitor will take it in exchange for their email.

After you take their email and other people’s email addresses, you can now send them offers on various products through something called affiliate marketing.

Although it may sound super simple, there’s a lot more to this business than you think and I will cover that more in this review.

The Price

I’m sure a red flag was thrown when you saw that you can get this thing for $7.93.

Then there’s also a money back guarantee?

Hmmm…

On top of it being beyond affordable, they have some of the weirdest numbers.

I mean, what do you know costs seven dollars and ninety three cents besides that jug of orange juice that’s on sale because it’s about to expire?

Anyways, paying for that initial offer will only lead you to a nice little thing called an up-sell, which is nothing more than a “do you want fries with that” marketing technique.

Personally, I love them everywhere else just not when it comes to ANY make money from home product.

So make that purchase and you can expect to be hit with up-sell #1, which will lead to as many as 3 total.

  • Initial Price – $7.93
  • Up-sell #1 – $19.97
  • Up-sell #2 –  $37.77
  • Up-sell #3 – $47.00

All of these offers come with something to compliment the training here (email marketing) and they all come with a down-sell as well.

Try to close the $19.97 offer and get a chance to get it for $12.97 and so on and so on.

If you plan to purchase everything, you can be looking at spending a total of $112.67, which I can agree with as there are scammers out there that will try to take thousands of dollars from you after you give in to the bait.

Not a bad deal for some training, but definitely not all your’e going to need if you want to make money online.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Can make you money
  • Training is on email marketing
  • Program is ethical
  • 3o day money back guarantee

Cons:

  • Up-sells
  • Not newbie friendly like mentioned
  • Still need your own domain and hosting

There is a lot more to building a list and making money online than they make it seem and this will only lead to you getting frustrated and ultimately quitting.

Along with any type of training, you are going to need some support and even some 1 on 1 coaching.

Yes, they have a Facebook group, but that’s not going to cut it as everyone is really on there to talk about the program and how “awesome” it is.

Many programs focus on one aspect of online marketing, but none can compare to what I consider to be the best platform out there and you can see how Hookum sizes up to it.

At a Glance

Name: Hookum

Website: www.hookum.co

Price: $7.93 + up-sells

Overall Rating: Legit but requires more knowledge than the average bear. Decent training but also lacks in the support area of online marketing.

Final Verdict: Legit, But…

Hookum is not a bad product and is far from a scam.

It may not make you hundreds of dollars a day and it may not be my #1 recommendation, but it could possibly work if you know what you’re doing.

From the sales page alone I can tell that this is not the best product out there, but it does offer some value and is surprisingly ethical like they mentioned.

Kudos to them there.

Definitely need some basic knowledge of affiliate marketing, but if you know a thing or two, this might actually work for you.

Totally legit, but not something I would recommend, especially for newbs.

What I Really Think

Making money online is a wonderful thing and it’s great to see another product that isn’t just out there to take your money without offering a product and most especially a product with actual value.

It brings nothing new to the table, but at the very least, this site is legit.

This type of information can be found on the web if you really looked for it, but of course there’s more to making money online than some cool lessons.

Success requires not just knowledge, but some awesome support and maybe even some 1 on 1 coaching or you’ll find yourself becoming another statistic.

See what I recommend here or become exactly that.

I’m sure you’ll find more than just a solid program there, so please take it for what it’s worth.

Other than that, thanks for reading my Hookum review!

I hope you have all the information you need to make a wise decision and I wish you nothing but success in the online world.

Cheers!
