Creating a solid work from home business is a lot easier than most people think.

The biggest problem most people have when looking for work at home “opportunities” is that they either think that multilevel marketing is the only way or they are just too skeptical about anything that the internet has to offer.

Can you blame them?

Of course not.

I have tried almost every method as far as making money online is concerned and I have blown thousands of dollars falling for the many scams out there so I know how hard it is to trust anyone.

After giving away too much money, I figured that the only way for me to make money online is to put in the work like everyone else.

Rather than giving into the “make $1,000 by tomorrow” type schemes, I decided to do things the right way.

In the end, I have managed to make more money than I could possibly think of and I am proud to say that I now work from home full-time.

So how do you start an online business?

1.) First Things First – What are You Selling?

Just like running a physical business, you are going to think about what you would want to promote, which is what you would call your niche.

you are going to need a this and I recommend you pick something that you actually enjoy.

Most online marketers would tell you that you should pick one on something you know a lot on, but I created a business with something I simply wanted to know more about.

However, unlike a physical business, you are going to be providing information and recommending products that are related to your niche and that is exactly how you will get paid, but that should be the least of your worries when starting out.

Now that you have this little interest, it’s time to put it down on some online real estate.

2.) Building Your Store

Some people may tell you that you DO NOT need a website to make money online, but I beg to differ.

This step is what will make you money over and over and over again, so please tell me who doesn’t want that, right?

When you are completely new to the world of making money online, it is always best to have your own website and for many reasons at that.

one, you own it, so no one can tell you where to put your stuff or how to run your business.

You are the boss.

Second, you are building a business.

As your site ages, it becomes the “go to” for people in regards to this nice little passion of yours.

These are just a couple of reasons as to why you need your own website and please don’t let something so intimidating scare you.

Owning and creating a website is not as hard as it used to be and it can literally be done in under 30 seconds.

 

 

Like you, building my own website was not something I was looking forward to until I actually learned how to do it.

Now think about building a building for your business?

Let’s just not go there, because I’m pretty sure you don’t have a million dollars lying around to start constructing.

These days you can forget about the crazy computer coding because you can have your very own website up and running in no time.

3.) Setting up Shop

When you have your business (online or offline), you are going to need to have different places for your customers to go, so that they can find what they’re looking for.

With the online world, it is pretty amazing actually.

Instead of putting up shelves with different products, you will be creating content for your visitors.

This is nothing more than writing articles (minimum 500 words so don’t get scared) and giving them a solution to their problem whether it be through a service or a product.

Being that we live in the information age, the internet is where it’s at my friend and you will see here shortly how you can’t beat it.

4.) Monetizing Your Site

Although I suggest you worry about this part the least, it is going to be a must if you want to make money online.

I mean, it’s what we set out to do in the first place right?

Well this is actually the really easy part and something you will learn more of as you progress as an online marketer.

In this part of starting a work at home business, it is nothing more than getting affiliated with some vendors and adding the products to your site.

Your ultimate goal as an online marketer, is to provide some great information and ultimately sending your visitors to the actual vendor’s site.

Pretty simple huh?

You will see how this can add up to be some crazy income as your site ages and you create more content.

 

 

Finding Affiliate Sites

Just like Apple has an app for that, in the affiliate marketing world, there’s an affiliate program for that.

I don’t care if it’s boy’s running shoes or how to lose weight for moms that just gave birth, there’s an affiliate program for it.

Want to get affiliated with Amazon or Ebay?

Well guess what?

They have an affiliate program for that too.

Every single time you recommend some type of product from these guys, you can be getting paid in the process.

And trust me, everyone and their mothers (my mom too) are shopping online.

I shop on those sites every single time and so do the millions of people spending money every single day, so I think it’s about time you start cashing in on these billion dollar companies.

The potential of creating an online business is insane my friend, and if you don’t take advantage of it, someone else will.

5.) Spreading the Word

Again, you will be spreading the word through your content, but there is a way to go about this and I want to show you exactly how this is done.

Organic – Search Engine Traffic

This is the absolute best way to get the word out there, simply because it’s free!

Free is a great part about it, but the main reason why I love it so much is that the articles you create for this organic traffic is very, very targeted.

Did I mention very targeted?

So if someone was to search “the best dog training collar for pit-bulls” and your article is there, then guess what?

You will get paid every single time someone makes a purchase from that link you just provided.

Just Google it!

I’m pretty sure you’ve “Googled” something in your life.

Chances are, you have probably made a purchase on the other end and didn’t know that you just made an affiliate marketer some money.

That is the beauty of creating content for the search engines and getting it ranked.

It is also one of the best feelings to know that something you published is ranked #1 in the search engines.

Although it is a great way to get traffic, it does require a little more work.

You will have to deal with SEO (search engine optimization) and know how to get these articles to that first page of Google.

Social Networks

More than likely you own a Facebook account and one other social networking membership.

There are so many ads out there that you probably have clicked on before and this is just another way to get your content out there.

If you see the screenshot below, you will see where these advertisements are strategically placed and in most cases, there is an affiliate on the other end trying to get you to his or her site.

 

 

These are just some of the things you can use to get your website seen, but I am not going to get too much into that because it is another animal on its own.
