5 Online Jobs For Retirees That Can Be Started Immediately

Last Updated: December 20, 2018 //  by John

There are so many people retiring, but also inherit a lot of extra things. Extra time, extra bored, and extra bills. I want to show you a couple of online jobs for retired people, which you can start immediately.

With the cost of everything going up, there is no room for the newly retired to even take a vacation. Today we are going to help the retired, as well as help those that want to retire.

Not All Retirees Are Created Equal

online-jobs-for-retired-peopleJust because you’re retired it doesn’t mean you are living the life most people think you’re living. No vacations or time off for you. Most retirees actually have a harder time due to a lesser income, so that leaves you on the hunt for more money.

Some of you are just flat out bored and you aren’t used to having so much time on your hands. These are usually the best retired people and how most people want to be when they retire.

There are different types of retirees and most of you are actually looking for another source of income. Now is the time to get used to the pay cut and saving just became apart of your vocablulary.

Let’s face it, most of us aren’t going to retire with some kind of crazy pension. I once worked at a retirement fund and last I remembered the most you could get was 85% in most cases. That of course requires 30 years!

Out With the Old, in With the New

So what kind of job did you just retire from? Were you in the brick and  mortar industry? Did you retire from the government? Are you a retired service member? Whatever the job may be, you are probably happy that you can do absolutely nothing and still get paid, even if it’s just your own money.

Welcome to the retired life. It’s all about waiting around for that check (if it’s not direct deposit) and trying to stay sane because of all the time you have. Who doesn’t want more time?

No more waking up to get to work which was something you’ve been doing for the past 20 + years.  You’re new routine is nothing compared to what you’re used to, and you are now faced with the “what do I do now” question.

To me, this is a GREAT thing and this is what holds people back form doing bigger and better things. Now that you’re retired, I want to show you how much more there is out there, besides the same 9-5 job you’ve been at for however long you were there.

Breaking Out of Your Comfort Zone

Breaking out of your comfort zone is hard for a lot of people to do at any point in their life. The majority of us found a job and that is all we think we know.

Then we find ourselves trying to retire from there because we have invested too much time, which I think is a bunch of garbage, but that’s just how things are.

Not only are we programmed to do things like that but we are also easily influenced. Not many of us can quit our job to find something better, even if we say that we have the best job in the world.

I don’t care how good your job is and how much you love it, we all can use a little more money. For most of us, we want a lot more than others.

I was once in the military (for 10 years) and I quit. Yup, I flat out quit. Most of you are probably thinking that I’m stupid and all I needed was 10 more to retire. I have my reasons.

Why I Quit

I have many reasons for quitting the military and I wouldn’t do it any other way. We all have our wants, and I wanted a lot more than just that. I wasn’t going to settle, so you shouldn’t either. I love how people say they love their job, when they know they really don’t. Here are my reasons for quitting.

  • Family time – If there was one thing that I wanted in life, it was to have more time with my kids. Being in the service will not give me that time.
  • Change – Although I loved the guys I worked with, I needed to think about what I wanted in life. If I was going to accomplish anything, I would need things to change.
  • Tired of deploying – If this reason is not enough for anyone to find better work, then I don’t know what is. I have done my share of fighting and although I could do more, I have to think about others in my life.
  • More money – I really hate it when people think that if you’re in the military then you have a lot of money. Yeah it pays for the bare necessities, but that’s about it. Call me greedy, but I wanted more!

Being a father and having deployed TWO many times, I think it was time to take on another challenge in my life. I wanted to do something else and ultimately I wanted to make more money. This was not going to happen while I was enlisted.

I am now a full-time online entrepreneur and it was something I wanted to do mainly because I knew there was a lot of money in it. I broke out of my comfort zone to get what I wanted and created my own retirement. Here is what you should’ve been doing while you were working.

What Next?

now hiringAs a retiree there is one thing that you have that most people don’t and it is called time. This little thing will give you an advantage to those who are trying to do this with an existing job.

You can do many things after retirement, but I want to show you the different “jobs” that the internet has to offer.

  1. Take a vacation – Alright, this is not online, but I think you owe it to yourself, after all those years of hard work. Although most of you can’t do this, I suggest you take one if you can. After all those years of doing the same exact thing over and over again, I think your mind and body needs some time away from that cycle.
  2. Create a blog – I know this sounds crazy, but it’s not as complicated as you think. What do you think you’re on right now? This is my blog and I get to talk about anything I want. I have many other blogs that make me money and now it’s time you do the same. Create a blog of whatever it is you want, and you will see how much money can be made from something so simple.
  3. Start an online business – Most people think they can’t do business and I was one of them. I did run a bar, that I ran straight into the ground, but that didn’t stop me. I now do business online and make way more money than I did with that bar and I know you can do the same. What better way to make money than by doing it online, in the comfort of your home. Click here to see the same program that has taught me how to create a successful online business.
  4. Become a Freelance writer – There are sites like Freelancer.com, that allows you to give out tasks to other people, or you can do the tasks. I have never tried doing this, but it is there if you want to give it a shot.
  5. Join an MLM – I really don’t recommend this to anyone trying to work from home, but once again, it is out there if you want to try it. I have actually tried many multilevel marketing businesses and it is not the easiest thing. Being that you are retired, you might want to give something like Nerium a try.

My Recommendation

I want to introduce you to the best way to make money from home, online and no it’s not some kind of multilevel marketing pyramid scheme type of business. This new job for you as a retiree is called affiliate marketing.

In a nutshell, you sell other people’s products and make a commission. Simple enough? This is what I have been doing for the past couple of years and boy has it changed my life. Like I said, you have the advantage so make use of it.

If this opportunity is not as good as I claim it to be, you can come right back to a work at home jobs and give me a big fat virtual slap to the back of my head. I hope you find these online jobs can help you as a newly retired person and I hope you make it in the online world just like me, even if I already live like I’m retired. To whatever it is you do in life, cheers!
