Type of Business: MLM
Price: $47 – $90
Overall Rating: 2/5 stars
Featured on the hit TV show “Shark Tank”, Sand Cloud is yet another Multilevel Marketing business opportunity, but with a slight twist.
Many people are talking about this new beach lifestyle company that is taking Instagram by storm, as this is the first Multilevel Marketing Company that is mainly marketed by the youth and doesn’t pay its members through cash, which I’ll be covering more later in this review.
This brand name has spread rapidly, going worldwide in just 3 years, and this Sand Cloud review will attempt to explain how.
It will also give you information with which to decide if this company is the right next step for you.
Another MLM scam or a worthwhile investment?
We shall see.
Oh and don’t forget to checkout my top rated work from home program as I’m sure you can appreciate no recruiting.

What is Sand Cloud?
Sand Cloud is a towel and beachwear company that was founded in San Diego in 2014.
They sell thin, patterned beach blankets and employ young ambassadors to promote their brand on their social media accounts.
The company has over 10,000 team members who have worked hard to spread their brand name via Instagram and Facebook.
This has served them well since their towels are now known of and sold world wide within only 3 years of their launch.
SandCloud allows its ambassadors to make suggestions on what designs or products they should make next, and then they are made.
This is a very smart tactic, because they are getting opinions from the audience to which they are trying to sell, and are not needing to hire a staff to think up these new products.
What do They Stand For?
Sand Cloud prides itself in giving a 10% donation from every purchase to marine life foundations such as Pacific MMC, San Diego coast keepers, and the Surfrider Foundation.
This is a great aspect of the company, because it allows buyers the opportunity to make a difference.
These donations have spread Sand Cloud’s following immensely, and joined Sand Cloud to the marine life community.
Who is Sand Cloud for?
Sand Cloud is for anyone who is friendly, has a following on social media, and wants to make a difference while getting paid in inventory.
A passion for the ocean is also a plus when looking into this company.
This company is in no way an opportunity for stable income, since the pay is not in money but in store credit.
This is a major downfall of working with this company, which is why most ambassadors are young people who have not entered the job market just yet.
With that said, if beach wear is something you would love to be compensated for your work with, this could be a great opportunity for you.
The most successful ambassadors have been active on Instagram and Facebook featuring the towels in their posts, while also meeting new people often who they introduce to the company and their mission.
Another aspect of being a Sand Cloud ambassador is recruiting other ambassadors.
Since the target audience of these products are teenagers and young adults, the pool of potential ambassadors is pretty huge.
If you think about it, Multilevel Marketing has never before been an option for young people.
There are not really any companies which offer to compensate young people to advertise to their friends, and Sand Cloud allows it’s ambassadors to be as young as 13 years of age.
Because of this, Sand Cloud has been able to recruit extremely easily through their existing ambassadors.

How do the Ambassadors Get Paid?
Since the ambassadors are very young, they do not have high standards for what they expect to be paid. The company does not technically hire them, but they sign up voluntarily.
Once you sign up to be an ambassador, you start sharing about the product.
You share a code which gives 25% off on all purchases.
With each use of your code, you receive 500 points.
Once you reach 2500 points, you get a $50 credit to the Sand Cloud inventory, which of course will be used to purchase more goods.
The Sand Cloud Products
The interesting thing about Sand Cloud is that it does not have a large array of items for sale, and yet has grown rapidly.
The beach towels and blankets which they sell are no different from ones you could buy at a regular store.
The only difference is the brand name and that might actually be what some of you are looking for.
So if you want to get one, you can check them out on Amazon if you aren’t looking to join any type of business.
All of these items come in many color and print options:
- Standard sized towel – $47
- XL Towels – $67
- XXL Towels – $72
- Round Towels – $99
- Beach Bag Towel – $70
Each of these products also have certain prints which cause them to be sold at a higher price.
This inventory is why Sand Cloud is so heavy on hiring ambassadors to sell the name of the company. Once the name is well known, people (especially teens) will pay ridiculous prices just to represent a well known brand name.
After spreading worldwide, Sand Cloud has recently started to sell shirts, beach bag towels, and accessories such as iPhone cases, necklaces, water bottles, hats, and stickers.
This growing inventory could mean big things for Sand Cloud and with more options to choose from, it could either overcomplicate their sales, or expand the company further.
By this I mean that the hook of this company is that it is very simple.
It has grown because of it’s simple mission statement and simple inventory.
With additions to this inventory, customers could either become overwhelmed or more willing to buy items.
The Pros & Cons of Sand Cloud
Pros:
- Benefits marine life
- Young and social ambassadors
- Has social media following
- A voice to the youth
Cons:
- Payment is not money, but store credit
- Product sold is not a necessity
- Limited inventory
- Dependent upon social media following
- Young unexperienced ambassadors
Is Sand Cloud a Scam?
Sand Cloud is not a scam, but is definitely not a good fit for a everyone.
Being like any other Multilevel Marketing company, it is only as profitable to it’s ambassadors as they choose to make it.
If you are willing to go to the beach or other public places and socialize with strangers, you may have a place in this company.
If you are not a very social person or do not have a good sized social media following, then doing well in this company would not easily happen for you.
Sand Cloud is definitely a growing company, and has many predictions for it’s future.
However, there is no way to know how it will stand the test of time other than to wait.
Would I recommend it?
Not so much, especially when you can find these products on Amazon.com.
What I Recommend
If you are looking to support this company, then go ahead and buy these towels on Amazon.
I’m not the biggest fan of MLM and with store credits being the incentive, I’m going to have to pass up on this one as I am more on the business side of things rather than a consumer.
For those of you looking to actually make some type of money, you might want to try this instead.
Other than that, thanks for reading my review of Sand Cloud and hopefully I have given you more than enough information on what you will be getting involved with if you do decide to join.
Now you tell me, is Sand Cloud really worth it?

I have 3 issues with this MLM business:
1. I am concerned, as well, that the young ambassador who contacted me isn’t making any money. And she in turn buys more “stuff” with the credits she receives.
How many more towels and tees does she need?
2. Only 10% is donated to marine life organizations? Where does the remaining 90% go?
3. There aren’t many products to pick from.
But because it’s a relative, I will buy something.
Thanks John for the review. Very helpful as Im reviewing
Not a problem Sam!
