There are a lot of questions surrounding this site and I figured I’d debunk all the negative reviews on this company for those of you who think you might get scammed.
Don’t get me wrong, there are a bunch of scams out there but I think people get the wrong impression with Peopleperhour being that they don’t really understand how the site actually works.

The finder’s fee isn’t fun, I won’t pretend that it is, but the convenience of having all the jobs in one spot makes it worth it (or at least that is my opinion).
The also offer mediation services for when contracts go south, another big plus.
We will take a look at what specifically makes PeoplePerHour special in the next section, but the gist of it is this: if you want to save time and make sure that you get paid for the work that you do, using a freelancer site is the way to go regardless of their fees.

- Hourlies: Hourlies are what makes PeoplePerHour truly different than most of the other sites out there. With hourlies, you are able to essentially place an advertisement on the site that allows jobs to come to you instead of you to them.
In the advertisement, you state what you can do, how much you charge for it, and then you have the options to include addons as well.
The add on is essentially a premium package.
Say you have posted that you can write a one thousand word article for $20.
You could then also add that for another five dollars you will include pictures, or hyperlinks, and so on and so forth. It is a good way to save a little bit of time, and also establish your rate outright.
- The Featured Proposal: One of the first things that you will probably notice as you scan through jobs is that they can get pretty competitive. Often times you will find that thirty, forty, even fifty people have applied for the same gig.

It’s a great way to have the opportunity to bid first which will greatly increase your chances of getting the job. Of course, you will have to act fast. Chances are you weren’t the only one that got the email, after all.
- Affiliate Program: By simply being a member of Peopleperhour they offer you a chance to make money just by referring people to their site. It’s not cost to you or the person you refer, so it’s really a win/win for everyone. At $25 a pop, you really can’t go wrong.
Cons of Peopleperhour
Fortunately, there isn’t much in way of cons for this website.
PeoplePerHour does most things right, though I will say that their reliance on micro-transactions is a little bit troubling.
The featured proposal is one thing, but they have a similar option out there for all of their services.
Featured hourlies, featured profiles.
They even have a featured option for their application onto the site where they advertise they will process your application quicker if you pay them five dollars.
On a side note, I did not take advantage of the featured application option when I joined the site and I was still accepted within several hours.
Is their reliance on micro-transactions a deal breaker?
Of course not as you don’t have to utilize them.
They can just be a little bit irritating, and frankly slightly unprofessional compared to the sites that don’t use them like Upwork.
It is Completely Free to Join Peopleperhour
Aside from pros and cons, the best part about this site is the fact that it is free to join.
You don’t have to pay to start working and you don’t have to pay to find workers either.
They do get their fees after work is completed but I think it’s well worth it for the service they provide as it is really up there as far as freelance websites are concerned.
