There are many tools that allow you to find domain names and I like to use Godaddy’s search bar to see if domains are available.

I have spent hours upon hours trying to find different domains, that I actually think I masted the whole domain thing.

I also think I have a couple that are worth thousands of dollars, so owning domain names can be worth more than you think.

.Com, .Org, or .Net?

I always recommend you aim for a dot com. If you absolutely, positively, can’t find any name you like, then you can go for a .net or a .org.

There are so many other extensions out there but I do recommend you stay away from them unless you have a website team and an actual business ready to take on that domain.

Those are not meant for online marketing, but can do great for local businesses and whatnot. But, always shoot for a .com. Always.

How Much Should You Pay?

I have purchased over 100 domains in my life and I used to get them with Godaddy, but after falling for their cheap price for the 1st year, I ended up paying for it in the long run, when they were charging me over $30 just for one year.
