How to Target a Audience – Blogging 101

Last Updated: December 20, 2018 //  by John

Learning how to target a audience is something most online marketers have no clue about.  Most bloggers try to focus on too many things and forget about what they’re talking about.  Don’t forget that there are different types of bloggers and if you are into niche blogging, you will not target any audience trying to talk about running and skin care products.

The Jack of all Trades

jack of all tradesIf you want to target a specific audience, you are going to have to NOT become Mr. Know it all.  However, if you focus on one thing and talk about that one thing within your posts, you will definitely target that audience, for free.

In the world of SEO, you need your blog to focus on specific things and not a bunch of things.  If you decide to go with a specific niche, then stick with it.

Stay Focused Daniel San

The biggest reason why people tend to blog about different things is that they aren’t really passionate about what they’re writing about.  They then drift into other topics that have no relevance to what their niche is about.  You need to stay focused and get more and more ideas of what you can talk about.

Keyword research is a great way to find fresh articles and keep your content entertaining.  Believe me, every topic can literally produce thousands of articles, so there should be no reason that you are stuck.  I use Jaaxy to help me with my keyword research and with just one keyword search, I find at least 20 different keywords that I can blog about.

Jaaxy is a paid service which costs $19 a month but they do offer 30 free searches.  Give it a shot and see what other article titles you can come up with.

Be the Pro

When you talk about something you should always be passionate about it.  If you ever learned anything about blogging, you would know that being passionate about is a must.  Alright a must is kind of extreme, but you know what I mean.

Being passionate is one thing now being really good at it is another.  They go hand in hand and will help you become a very, very good blogger.  You will then start to see your blogging efforts start to pick up.

Practice Makes Perfect

You have probably heard this saying ever since you were a child and guess what?  This same saying applies to you as a blogger.  This will probably be the best tip that any blogger can get and is something you can do to improve your blog posts.

When you create posts, quit worrying about making everything perfect but rather creating posts regularly and letting it flow.  Write, write and write and then go back to your posts and make whatever adjustments need to be made.

Remember that you are a human and you are writing for someone else to read, so let’s keep it that way.  You are going to make mistakes and you are not going to make every article perfect, now that is something you need to understand.  However, your readers (target audience) will be looking for some useful information or something entertaining.

You put the two together and boy do you have a quality article.  Once you engage your readers, it will open up the door to other things.  Quit being a robot!  We all have our personalities and you NEED to be yourself.  Writing with your personality will make things flow a lot smoother and you will see how much more of a target audience you attract.

I hope this article has helped you and you start to see how blogging is something you can do for many years to come.  Leave a comment below and share this article if you feel you have learned something about blogging.
