Is Affiliate Marketing A Scam?

There are too many people that think affiliate marketing is a scam, due to the fact that there are way too many people trying to take advantage of the completely uneducated.

Let me just tell you that I make money with affiliate marketing and I am actually a full-time online marketer. Today I want to give you a better understanding of what this is all about so you have a better understanding of why some people might consider affiliate marketing a scam.

 

Is Affiliate Marketing a Scam?

To answer your question, affiliate marketing is not a scam. It is a completely legit online business and yes there are people making money with it and a lot of it at that.

Affiliate marketing is nothing more than taking other people’s products and selling them to get a commission in the process. It is about the same as a regular business, it’s just that it’s done online.

There are thousands of vendors and companies that are willing to pay you to market their products and get sales for their company. Not only do they pay you, but they do pay pretty well.

 

Why I do Business Online

Just like you, I had my reasons as to why I wanted to do business online and spending more time with my family being the biggest one. Along with the physical benefits of affiliate marketing, there are many other reasons as to why I would recommend this over any other business.

You Don’t Need a Product

It doesn’t get any better than not having your own product. If I never gave online marketing a try, I would never know that you can actually run a business without owning your own product.

You can sell anything from shoes to services that other people provide. You can literally become an associate with Amazon and start selling products from there and get paid for doing so.

The Biggest Market in the World

You can’t get more people than what you have right in front of you. I don’t mean your computer, but I do mean the world wide web. There are millions of people online every single minute of every single day.

Not only are they online, but they are also looking for solutions to a problem. Just like how you “Googled” if affiliate marketing is a scam, there are billions of others looking for something as well.

No Recruiting

Unlike your typical multilevel marketing business, this one doesn’t require you to get others to join so you can make money. I once was involved with many MLM companies and I did fairly well.

The problem with them is that they are not easy! Did you know that there are a whopping 1% that are making it with network marketing? Too many people get lured in by all this false hope, just to find out that MLM is not for them. Not so much the case with affiliate marketing.

You are the Boss

Some jobs may make you think that you are the boss, when you are really working for another company. This one is completely ran by you and no one else.

You make your own checks and you make your own hours. I literally work odd hours every single day and only because it goes best with my every day life, just like how I’m going to take a break from this post to get my son at school. I’ll be back to finish this post soon.

Okay, I’m back. What I wanted to talk about next, was my experience with a physical business. I took my first chance at business by running a bar and boy was that a lesson learned. A few thousand dollars in debt later!

To make a long story short, I failed at it. Not only did I fail, but I failed miserably! Did that stop me? Absolutely not. That’s when I did my research and came across the topic of choice, which is affiliate marketing.

 

There are Scams

Although some may consider affiliate marketing a scam, there is nothing about it that I can possibly think of that would make anyone think that. However, there are many programs that are scams.

Okay, maybe not many, but there are A LOT! What I don’t like (beside it being scams) is that it is making people have a wrong impression about affiliate marketing.

Like the good ole saying goes, “If it seems too good to be true, then it most likely is”. It’s usually the ones that flash all the money and advertise the fancy cars and all that nonsense.

 

It Doesn’t Happen Overnight

There is one thing that you need to understand though. This business is not going to make you rich overnight and I can promise you that there is no push button secret that will do it either.

It is going to take some dedication and patience. There are too many people that quit right before they see success and wasted a lot of time. If you do stick to it, I can tell you that there is a lot of money to be made online and it can definitely change your life.
