Do You Really Love Your Job? – Most People Can’t Say The Same

Last Updated: August 30, 2018 //  by John

How many of you out there can actually say that you absolutely love your job?  Not too many people can actually say they love their job and it’s almost like that’s just how life is, wouldn’t you agree?  Most people actually really dislike their job, but really don’t know what else there is to do.

I can’t recall the last time someone’s ever told me they loved their job and it’s probably because jobs aren’t supposed to be enjoyable, right?   Love is a very strong word and it would mean you absolutely like everything that comes with that job.  From your co-workers, the type of work you do, to the type of flexibility that comes with it, what is it that makes you love your job?

What Exactly do You Love About Your Job?

computer hugMost jobs are actually pretty fun, but that’s about all it has to offer.  Does your job take care of your family?  Does your job offer amazing benefits?  What is it that this job has to offer that keeps you there?

When I held a regular 9-5 job, I can say that I loved going to work, just to spend time of my co-workers and listen to them talk about each other. That was one of the joys I had of going to work.

Although I liked going to work and hanging out, I knew there was more to life than just that. The pay sucked, the hours sucked, and the benefits sucked.  I really almost stayed there, just to hang out which is pretty stupid, now that I look back at it.

But I’m So Comfortable Working Here

Most people keep their job because let’s face it, we all NEED some kind of income.  People get used to their job and it gets really hard to break up the routine you already have and then you develop this “it pays the bills” mentality.

A problem people have when quitting a job, is breaking their comfort zone. You’re so used to the routine, that you would rather not deal with the change, not to mention the fact that change is sometimes hard to deal with.

Have you ever thought of where you’ll be in 5 years from now?  10 years?  Really think about where you’ll be and what type of retirement you have set up and think if it’s really worth it.  In most people’s shoes, you’re actually working a dead end job.

Where Will You Be,  5 – 10 Years From Now?

Let me tell you where you’ll be.  You’ll still be at that job that pays chump change, telling yourself that there’s no turning back now, because you’ve already invested too much time into that job.

I was working at my old job for 5 years, before I finally decided to make a move and find a better route for me and my family.  I knew there had to be a way and I wasn’t going to settle for what that job had to offer.

As a matter of fact, I was also in the military for 12 years and just recently got out, but only because I was starting to make more money doing business online.

Get a Job You Really Love

I really had no clue as to how business was done online, but all I knew was that there were people making millions of dollars doing something online and I wanted a piece of the pie.

That’s when I came across affiliate marketing, which has been the game changer for me. Online marketing was actually what these millionaires were doing, so I decided to learn a thing or two about this business and that is what made all the difference.

I really don’t know what field of work you’re in, but I do want you to know that if you’re not happy with your j-o-b, then you need to plan for an alternative route.

I don’t care if it doesn’t pay enough, or it keeps you away from your family, you need to weigh the pros and cons.  I totally understand that we all need to work, but who said it has to be dreadful?

I hope you aren’t at your current job for all the wrong reasons and hopefully you’re not settling either.  Can you let me know your thoughts on your current job and how much you hate/love it?  Leave a comment below and let’s see who actually loves their job.  Thanks for sharing!

Hello John, no I do not hate my job. But I’m not fond of the idea of only getting money from somewhere, and that most of my life is set up on one paycheck, but beyond that, I am happy to be going out the door every day. whenever I manage with my entrepreneurial project and the extent to which it succeeds, I always like to have a nice job to take out the door and work with every day. I just use my journey and my TV time to build on my project instead

I cannot say I enjoyed my job when I was still working. I liked the people I worked with which made it easier to show up and do the job. I honestly believe most people do not like their job and that is unfortunate because they spend so much time of their life there. I feel that is part of the reason so many people seem to be angry much of the time. I say good luck to anyone who plans to build their own business.

You are definitely right about people spending most of their life at their jobs. That’s why I decided to put my time into something that will actually benefit my family and I in the long run. Investment of time is a big thing and if you’re putting it in the wrong place, you’ll be there for the rest of your life. Thanks for the comment Virgie.

I confessed that the reason I love my job now is the income it generates but not the freedom of life. I miss my holidays, my stress free weekends, my friends and I want that back without having to breach my finance. That’s why I am still reluctant to leave my day job. Now, through my web business, I can slowly see the light at the end of the tunnel. Someday, I will be working comfortably from home and will not regret every single effort that I have committed to make it work.

    Hey Jon.

In terms of my job, I basically quit the “dream” job associated with my degrees so I could have more freedom. My intention is to build my own online business to do this, however, it is a long process and in the meantime I took a less paying job that gave me more time to work on my dreams. It’s not my favorite job ever, but it pays the bills until I can eventually go full-time working for myself.

    Hi, John

Nope, not in the slightest! I really hate my job…. Grrrrrrrr!

I hate the fact I have to wear a stupid uniform and be dictated to by my employer. JOB stands for Just Over Broke because nobody will ever get anywhere in life working for the “fat cats.”

I can’t remember who said this quote but it’s true – “when you do something you love doing, you will never have to work a day in your life.” This is where an online business comes in to play because I enjoy building it so much that it’s turned in to a passion AND I get paid for it 🙂

Who wouldn’t want to earn a life changing income from having fun?

    Cheers, Neil

    Great post John!

    I actually hate my job!

But as you say “it pays the bills”

But I like to think of it as a temporary situation and my “real” job is building up my online business until I can leave the nine-to-five grind behind forever!

    Hi John,

A nice article. I love my job, but there is something I don’t like at work. So I am trying to build a website and get my online business going. It is better to work for yourself and be your own boss.

    Cheers,
